This whole ordeal stinks. Handled poorly. Delusional expectations.

Looks like the things in motion means we must get a new coach because LM can't continue. This also means O, Wilson, etc are gone along with a bunch of the 2016 class. Fisher is not coming because he has it made where he is. Why leave what he has in Tallahassee? All this chatter is for a raise.

Alternatives? Super coach with a big name successful right now at a big school? I don't see that happening. This will be like the Dinardo, Saban and Miles hires. Big names thrown around with the suggestion that this is the greatest place to coach and the "big name" will drop his current good and safe job to come here will not pan out. The name that is announced will result in the same "excitement" that the Steele hire produced.

I just hope this next hire doesn't turn out to be a "Hallman" situation. Those days were not fun. Why pay large TAF fees when tickets will be free on the street and the stands half empty? Maybe that kind of ticket market will drive the bicycle dudes away?

Anyway, it all stinks and is kinda like the flu. Just give it time and it will pass.

Saban was a pretty big hire.... He was an NFL candidate long before he came to LSU

This sentiment is getting out of fricking control. There's a week and a half of limbo... OMGZZZ sometimes schools have 2 years of limbo shite.

I'm sure Alleva has the potential to royally poop the bed, but there is no way even us Positigers can ignore the level of LSU's competitiveness or lack thereof the last few years.

Anyone in the media saying we are whiny entitled babies can go pound sand. Some shake up needs to happen. We have a losing record vs Bert Bielenema.

Alleva is just a puppet and isn't calling the shots.

I read somewhere ( I know, on the internet so it must be true) that jimbo has a special needs child and that that child's dr is in Louisiana.

As a family man myself, things like this mean a great deal. I have no idea if it's true, and I'm not saying it is. Just saying that football reasons aren't the only reasons people use to determine their jobs and their locations.

Until this plays out and we see who the hire is, your concerns are premature. Understandable, but premature.

And to say "so and so won't come" etc., how the hell do YOU know? You don't.

First, if I were a big name coach , like say a....FISHER, I would steer very clear of the LSU job after this debacle. Who wants to coach in a place where an inbred fan base with delusions of constant grandeur call for your head after a 9-10 win season.

Why would a big time coach want to go to a place wherein the fan base leaves if I start losing in the 4th quarter or if I get ahead by 10 with 9-10 minutes left in the fourth because the traffic might get bad.

Why would a big time coach want to constantly be looking over his shoulder because the fan base might not like his philosophy even though it consistently wins.

News flash....Baton Rouge is not exactly that great a place to be.

This reminds me of what LSU did to McClendon. A few years after he turned down the chance to be the first million dollar coach at TAM. He was forced to retire.
The LSU powers could have gone all in and supported him but chose to let him go it alone. LSU was falling way behind in building up the athletic facilities but many believed we were the best at everything.
Back then the LSU fan base believed the BS from Bear Byrant that LSU have superior talent which caused a lot of conflict with the LSU BoS.
LSU could easily support Miles with his commitment to make some concessions and agree on some goals for improvement.
This buyout would be twice the largest buy out I've seen in NCAA history not including any buy out of an existing head coaches contract. Doesn't make sense to do this now.

What on Earth could possibly lead you to think Miles would make that commitment? Or that he could carry it out even if he did?

This was the reason why Chris Peterson left Boise State for the Washington job.

The expections are not delusional, and even Miles would agree with them.

Handled poorly? Yes.

We're gonna spend $15M to run Miles off, just to have a shot at the Houston Coach with 1 year of experience.

How could that possibly go wrong?

If you're scared get a dog. Miles has this program in a tailspin. Now is the time to act or it will turn into a real shite show.

Kiwi you don't have a clue. 13-10 the last 3 years in the SEC. No bowl win in how long. Will be two years in a row you don't finish in the top 25. You continue to recruit QBs that don't match your coaching philosophy or scheme. That is a joke. You know why the fans leave early, could be that over the past 6 years the offense has been ranked 94th or worse in offense production? What do you want to do, bring in another offensive coordinator? How has that worked out.

Quite a lot of revising ancient history and current events here. Weird prism you're looking through.
