SEC might get 3 teams in the tourney, talk about mediocrity

thank you, south, for always providing quality basketball analysis and info. i still see us getting only 4 teams in because somewhat like football we will beat each other up. There will only be those 2 that have standout conference records.

I've always put it like this:
You don't win your tourney bid because a good OOC record, but you can get certainly lose your tourney bid due to a bad OOC record. Especially in the SEC where there is certainly a lack of confidence in the quality.
The best case for the SEC is for the teams who won a major OOC game to play well in the conference. Those wins will help validate their quality. Those teams are:
rankings are KenPom
LSU - @ #12West Virginia
Georgia - vs #29 Seton Hall
Kentucky - vs #16 Kansas, vs 52 Providence, vs #22 Texas, vs #9 UNC, @ #7 Louisville
Arkansas - @ #33 SMU, vs #49 Dayton
South Carolina - vs #24 Okie St, vs #20 Iowa St
Possibly:
Ole Miss - vs #42 Cincy (but have bad losses)
So for the SEC's best chances at 5 teams in tournament you have to look at those, with Bama being the only team without a top 50 win that could still be considered because all three losses came to very good teams and they kept the games relatively close.

Georgia is favored over Arkansas by 3 1/2 points. I didn't realize they an extra 2 days rest. That is a big disadvantage for us, our team won't even make it to bed until probably 3-4am Friday morning then we have to hurry up and prepare for UGA who has already done all prep work for us.
In High School and AAU most of these kids have played 3 games in 2 days multiple times. This early in the season, there need not be any fatigue or "dead legs" excuses made. The Tigers look to be in excellent condition as a team and are perfectly capable of winning both games this week.

That's a tough turnaround playing at Missouri Thursday night and then a good Georgia team Saturday. It'll be tough but I'd love to see a 2-0 start.

So of course, the game I thought was going to be the largest margin victory ended up going to overtime......
