You are full of bullshite. I do not have season tickets or pay to the tradition fund and I can go to any game I want and get tickets. If REGULAR fans want to go then get off your arse and out from in front of the big HD screen and go to the game.
I have two kids who go to LSU and it is amazing how many students don't go to the games but instead just stay outside and drink/party. Thus the 2000 empty seats in the Student Section.
I did not go today because I had to work. Should have swapped out.

I'll say it again cause it was bottom of page
Guys: if you don't like ticket prices, or stadium experience, or parking experience....... DON'T GO.
It's pretty simple?

It's not gonna change, LSU is making TONS of money. If nobody else has noticed they're ADDING 10,000 seats to the stadium.
Get over it people. It's the nature of today's college football.
If they want to change it they need to talk with the NFL and try to emulate them.

IDK if the OP is 100% correct as to what the problem is, but he is 100% correct that there is a problem.
Tiger Stadium just got called out on National TV!

This. This is college ball, let the band play.

I actually really enjoyed reading that.

I would rather have my eyes poked in than sit in the stadium and listen to idiots talk about football and curse Miles at every opportunity.
It it isn't Miles, its Stud, or Chavis......I would rather watch with my family and friends and celebrate great wins and plays than feel the need to defend our program to retards who don't know the basics regarding football.

The South Endzone was such a great experience. Most of the time, everyone knew each other and families had tickets in the family for multiple decades. It's totally different now

To me....This is the biggest problem.

The NCAA should cap the prices of tickets across the board for lower and (separately cap) upper decks for every school.
Posted on 10/12/13 at 6:41 pm to GetmorewithLes
in case you didn't notice, the East Upper was pretty empty.

These are all fair points, but i think the biggest culprit is that LSU is on TV every week and the gameday experience at most people's homes is better than going to the game. It's not just college football, look at the NFL where teams are looking at showing RedZone during the game.
As for the folks w/ tickets that don't go, i have to think traffic control plays heavily into this.
For the record, i'm a season ticket holder but my dad uses the tickets every game (or we give them away).

I'm very confident serving alcohol would help out big time. People leave mainly b/c they want to party. At least in my experience.
What they need to ask themselves is why do most NFL teams not have this problem?

You've missed the entire point of the thread. He's pointing out the reasons that they DON'T GO.

WVU found an ancillary benefit was that their alcohol related arrests went down due to less binge drinking in the parking lot ahead of the game.

What you are describing is that college football is no longer for students and fans. It is for money for the University. It is semi-pro ball. Where a lot of the athletes are here just to play a sport and move on to the pros and have no interest in being a student or getting an education. Where the coaches are multi-millionaires trying to protect their jobs but yet ready to move on if a good enough offer comes along. Good basketball players are one and done. It is just a joke.
That said, it is what it is and I still will be a fan and hopefully enjoy the games. I don't live in Louisiana so the stadium experience isn't something I can participate in but I hear your pain.

Yeah, its the TV coverage. Many people don't even go to campus and plan to watch from home. Many others go to campus and tailgate and decide to just watch it on TV. Every tailgate has large flat screen TVs nowadays and the tailgate is more comfortable than the stadium. I see/hear it at almost every home game. Tickets siting on a table unused or going to the game for a while then coming back to tailgate and watch on TV

People having tix and not going really isn't a problem. That happens at every game in every sport. What people see is the mass exodus after halftime and the 3rd quarter.
