Kramer is and always has been overrated. He had some clutch hits last year but he is average at best.

KR was first team All-SEC last season. That means he can't be "average at best."

For the poster who said we win when we hit, we out hit McNeese 12-7.

And for Geismar who couldn't find a box score to verify that Kramer got a hit Wednesday night, here you go.

And he wasn't even first team in the pre-season this year.

His defense is excellent. 1 error in 51 chances is insanely good for a shortstop and a handful of those plays were web gems. He's not a power hitter and never will be but he's a really good contact guy with only 6 SOs in 55 plate appearances. Again, that is excellent. He was hitting over 0.400 and is now "down" to 0.348 and we're supposed to call this "overrated"? If he finishes the year hitting 0.348 with a 0.980 fielding %, he's an all-american.

Saw elsewhere where they said he was 0/18...1/18 it appears.

That's not true either. He was 1-2 vs Nicholls. Then went 0-10 in Houston. Then 1-5 vs McNeese.

ETA: Those 3 games in Houston are the only games he has not gotten a hit outside of the opener vs army when he went 0-1 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.

KR's hit against McNeese was a fluke.

His "hit" came when he hit Duplantis with the grounder between first and second base that resulted in Duplantis being called out and KR ending up on first base.

Even more ironic is if the ball had not hit Duplantis it would have been a routine double play.

Correct, and he did walk 4 times (Yay, Money Ball!) in Houston for an OBP of .286 and he scored 2 runs so it's not like he didn't contribute offensively.

baseball is a TEAM sport. many games have different "hero's" including key hits by the bottom of the lineup. if LSU is dependent on only one guy, or even two or three, we'll be lucky to host a regional.

imo, we lost the Mcneese game for different reasons than KRob. all we got were singles, often with no one on base.

THIS TEAM SEEMS TO REALLY STRUGGLE WITH OFF SPEED PITCHES. opponents know this. this was also true last year and it greatly hurt us at the end of the season. many of our hitters just can't hit a curve ball and approach each bat like we are facing fast ball guys; that is, very aggressive.

So .286 is an acceptable college on base percentage?

His OB% is 0.446 which is good for 2nd on the team behind Freeman. Terrible.

I know that.

Let's not pretend .286 at Houston was acceptable.

Correct, which apparently posters from Geismar don't know how to find on the internet.

Kramer has looked like his freshman and sophomore days these last two weeks. He's hit mostly weak ground balls.
