By the time Gaines leaves LSU I think he’s gonna be one of the best in the conference. He does so much so well.

He hasn’t looked like this most of the year. Happy to see it.

In an interview last week Wade said that Gaines once scored 35 points in a scrimmage.

The kid had handles from Day 1. Not sure he’s been getting the minutes he needs. Lots of talent on this team.

I really like Gaines and he finally found some offense tonight, the only thing he'd been struggling with.

We ran two fantastic fast breaks tonight and Gaines was the trigger for both. Amazing how well a fast break can work when you give the ball up and give it up at the right time.

The one thing that sticks out with Gaines is that defensively he has good anticipation skills and quick hands.
Once he can get stronger and get some PT he has the potential to be very good.
I see him and Cook being a very good backcourt in the futures.

I was impressed with him last night. I agree he’s going to be a great player before he leaves.

They are a much better defensive team without Thomas. I wish he would practice his defense as he will need it in the Pros.

And he moves his feet and beats dribblers to the spot.

I have been saying this also. Not only defense but he can also dribble penetrate and dish. Gets others involved with ball movement. Same with Cook. Will have to wait till next year for him to start cause Smart ain't going anywhere.

We would have lost the Georgia game without Thomas.

The dude is quick as a cat with the ball and when he's playing defense. I was extremely impressed with Gaines.

Yes he is very active and brings energy on defense, so much so that he was getting PT even though he was struggling mightily to score. I think they said he was 1-10 from 3 and something like 4-24 from the field before last night.

But WW kept saying he could contribute offensively and we would see.

It was LSU's best game moving the ball around and playing D. Gaines played great and appears fast.

Anyone see Wade's post-game interview posted on here talking about getting rid of negativity (referring to Manning I'm sure) and the results from that. Things must have been getting ugly with him for whatever reason. Wade said it a few times and then he winked into the camera multiple times after saying it. It was funny, but Wade is pretty immature.
