This game is huge for J. Jefferson.

N.C. will not have their 5 top defensive backs in the game. Wow, you read right, 5. Plus several other starters on D. I'm not one to expect the world, but you have to be able to throw at will on this team. Not being negative, but if J.J. struggles to throw for 250+ yards tonight, what will the top SEC teams do to him. Now if we run the ball at will, I don't think it matters if he doesn't have a big night throwing the ball. Hopefully he uses this game to make a statement. Meaning to show people on this board (I'm one of those people) and the media how much he has matured as a QB. Good luck J.J.!

I'm looking for solid decisions and sharp throws before passing yds.

Man do I hope so. I really like this kid, but he needs to make quicker/better decisions. He's a very good athelete, but that just isn't enough.

I realize that, but if we win let say a 27-14 ball game and Jefferson throws for 198 yards. Even if he had a very good game with that, ESPN hacks, because of NC's situation, will have a field day with that. That's why he needs to have a big game.

I ammexpecting us to run more than throw. If your measuring stick for JJ is 250+ you might be disappointed.

I figure he might get to the 200 mark. But most of our yards will be from running. Conservative gameplan as we should be able to push their 2nd teamers around.

I would love to see him throw all over them though.

No, they really won't. Nobody gives a shite about "250" in college. He can have a great game and only throw for 150. I will agree that he needs to have a good game, but it's more for his confidence and team momentum than to reach some meaningless arbitrary number to prevent media critics from ragging on him.

I think he needs a big game for his confidence going forward. With all the NC starters out, there is no reason for this game to remain close.

Some will say who cares what ESPN says but ESPN generally echoes pollsters and the general public. A close game tonight will just reinforce our low ranking and continue to feed the questions everyone has about this team.

The team needs to shut NC down, and roll big.

Would love to see both Jefferson and J. Lee put up good numbers and the RB's pile up a bunch of yards. This needs to be a statement game to get this season kicked off in the right direction.

Jefferson is gonna look like Matt Leinart tonight. Rest assured

I'd be shocked if he doesn't get at least 250 in the air and 2 TDs

I just don't want to see "happy feet" and holding on to the ball for too long.

Jefferson will throw for 2 TDs and rush for a TD today as well. UNC is lucky they have players suspended cause Jefferson will be taking it easy on them.

He's a changed man.

I think JJ wil come out firing. What needs to be seen now is his accuracy and timing with WRs. Being conservative will not be the problem.

I just hope he doesn't look on the sideline for the play, run the offense and let his playmakers do their thing.
