no pun intended of course. it will be a fiercly fought contest and the winner will be decided late in the 4th quarter, maybe in the last few seconds. anybody who doesn't think so hasn't watched LSU play. if we start the 4the qtr 2 td's ahead, we'll change that and allow them back in it. how? run the same running play over and over until we punt. if the 4th qtr starts and we are 2 td's behind, we'll change that too. for some reason, when we're behind, our passing game clicks and our intensity level rises on both sides of the ball and we usually march down and score. hell, i'm thinking about not even turning the tv on until the 4th quarter.

Both teams live on the wild side so I wouldn't expect anything different.

We will beat Auburn like a drum. They were the only team we beat last year like one and they don't play defense.

this will be their ultimate flaw. they may get by us, but they are a NC pretender b/c of that defense. its bad.

This game will go down to the wire, maybe OT. It's just not our MO to go into a quality opponent's house and destroy them; it's going to be a cardiac arrest game.

I'm very worried.

I think we're going to win big.

Whenever, I think that, it's a bad thing (except Va Tech 2007 and tOSU 2007)

The reason we keep it close is because when we gain a lead we put JJ in resulting in 3 and out. Wears down our defense. Then our opponent is able to recover enough points to match our lead. Then with the game on the line we play Lee and somehow win.

Play Lee the entire game and we win big.

"Smiles" will allow JJ to put us in position for Auburn to burn our barn!

What year was the Auburn game when there was a big fire near the statium?

LSU defeated Auburn 19-15 in 1996 while the old Auburn Sports Arena, affectionately called "the Barn", burned to the ground across the street from Jordan-Hare Stadium. After scoring a touchdown, Auburn trailed 17-15 and attempted the two-point conversion. LSU intercepted the pass and returned it for a 19-15 win. The fire began when a tailgater placed a barbecue grill too close to the building. Scenes of the fire were captured by ESPN during the national broadcast as flames were seen as high as the Jordan-Hare west upper-deck. The game was never delayed, and the Auburn public address announcer continually advised fans not to worry: "the stadium [was] not on fire; the flames [were] outside the stadium." Because of the fire and the thrilling finish, the game became known as the "Barn Burner".

So you've also noticed that when we're ahead and have Jefferson in to run the ball we go 3 and out and let the other team back in the game, but when we're behind and have Lee in to throw the ball our offense clicks and we come back. Glad you're starting to come around

Factored in the home cooking refs, LSU needs to be up by more than a TD to win the game outright.

At first the stadium announcer asked those fans who were parked near the Barn to "please move their cars"...got a whoooo minutes later when he reversed that call by saying "please remain in your seats"...the smoke, the glow and then the flames over the endzone upper...

I think we go into halftime +21, come out after halftime with the "milk the clock" attitude, then you see #9 step on the field. They come back. Our team can't turn it back on in the end after having the wind sucked out of them by #9.
