I really hate this line of thinking. It is retarded. Of course we don't. No one does. The problem is that because of the uncertainties, institutions must take calculated risks when hiring a chief executive. Those calculations are made on the basis of resumes. O does not have the HC resume for a premier program. That is why many of us are upset.

He may go on to be undefeated for the next five years, which would mean our fears are unfounded. But that's not the point. You're stupid if you don't get this concept.

Don't you realize the level of support for a coach is directly correlated to the success of that coach? Fans can literally will teams to victory with positivity. This is what I've learned over the past day.

Also questioning anything is bad and toxic.

Yep. It's going to be bad.

I think it will be this way regardless of who the coach may be. I've figured out some people prefer the drama over anything else.

However, realize that there was nothing we were going to be able to do to get them sans making them the highest paid coaches in CFB.

Once that sinks in, we need to quit bashing on O's coaching ability until we at least give him a shot to be successful.

the options weren't limited to jimbo, herman, and O

the decision didn't have to be made by this saturday, either

Are you guys still going to be pissed if we run the table with him as the HC?

obviously not, but who honestly expects this?

That's not the issue Mo, it' over and over we get it we didn't get the top choices. But the vitriol that is being exhibited is just plain wrong. O will either succeed or not no use constantly disparaging the man.

so you're saying we may have made a terrible hire, but nothing negative should be said about that until he does fail? i just don't get what is or isn't acceptable

Negas wanted a new coach. Negas got a new coach. Since it isn't EXACTLY, PRECISELY what they want, they will cheer against the team until they get another new coach.

I despise them and you should, too.

I think Orgeron has a chance to be successful. Personally, I would've paid Fisher or Herman the money. And I note that Orgeron's hiring is a lot more palatable with Aranda... so he better stay. My heartburn is with Joe Alleva and his total lack of executive skills. He fired Miles 2 months ago, supposedly giving LSU a headstart on hiring a head coach. As far as I can tell, he used that 2 months to play pocket pool. Where was the fricking search?

It's fine to voice your opinion. It is needed or we would all just agree and that would be boring.
But if you are pissed at alleva do it in a thread designated for it.
Attacking other fans or O for wanting to make LSU better and trying to force your displeasure is pussy. /rant

well i mean when your AD engages in the worst coaching search in modern history, throw a temper tantrum like a 15 year old girl, rushes a hire that didn't need to be rushed, and settles on a coach that has a terrible track record and literally no demand (While being a huge joke on this board for years), you're going to have some people get upset

This is the correct response. If the search is handled correctly and O was the best we could do, so be it. He had 2 months and this is how it played out? What the hell was Joe doing for the past 2 months?

A total embarrassment and disservice to all fans that shell out their hard earned money. I don't care which side you're on, the search was not handle as thoroughly as it should have been.

???

Saved USCw's season and saved LSU's season. What happened at Old Mrs was during his learning period and he has now proven twice that he is no longer "that guy"

I think people can complain all they want. However, a large majority of them would complain had it been Jimbo or Herman.

I'm going to see what he does. I'm not as worried about the hire since he doesn't appear to have much of a buyout.

I personally don't think Jimbo or Herman were coming here and the field of available candidates doesn't appear to be great. As more come available, changes can still be made under the current structure. Hiring Fedora or Gundy wouldn't have given that kind of flexibility

It's always been toxic.

"germans" is about as passive aggressive as anything you'll find on a message board.
