from the commissioner:
Note of fact:
So playing this game a month later is not proof they did not want this game then?
Again throwing it at LSU but, and a big but,
Mr Foley says,
“The conference office asked us to find a solution in working with LSU, yet LSU was never a true partner in our discussions."--
from the commissioner:
quote:
I want to give credit to the University of Florida for making concessions to move this year's game to Baton Rouge.
Note of fact:
quote:
had the game not been played, neither LSU nor Florida would have been eligible to play for the SEC Championship Game
quote:
This seems to put to rest any notion that Florida was trying to avoid playing the game, as the Gators will now head on the road
So playing this game a month later is not proof they did not want this game then?

LSU keeps a home game, which is important for a state university system that's currently having budget issues.

He is mistaken if he thinks the loss of revenue largely impacts the university. It's more about the local economy in the wake of the flood.

I don't care any more. Beat their arse on the field this year and next, and that's that.

I've stopped caring what anyone outside of this state has to say about LSU and this particular issue. It's really the only way to go about it now. Whenever someone from outside puts this all on LSU, just think, "so what?"
None of this will matter after 11/19. Not at all. The national media has the attention span of a gnat.
