Howard got too easily offended.

Shaq is an analysis now (it's his job) and at least he's played the position successfully.

Agree. Howard has the skin of an onion. It's the damn NBA. Shaq went through it when he was younger.

This all started when Howard tried to take the nickname "Superman" which Shaq started back in the 90s. Howard's a bum that is a freak athlete but NOWHERE near the player Shaq was.

Shaq is one of the best big men of all time. Howard isn't even close to Shaq as a player.

Shaq career average is better than Dwights best season. That is his last few years where he was just ring chasing.

Howard is just horribly overrated and needs to STFU.

Why is Howard so concerned with what Shaq says? Play the game. Howard is no stranger to drama. He brings a lot of criticisms on himself.

Exactly. I am just surprised Howard even addressed it.. Then again maybe I shouldn't be surprised.

Howard could have easily taken the higher road here and if he had to address then say, "it's his opinion."

Howard's, "He doesn't play anymore, move on" was dumb. Again it's his job and his opinion.

Meh. 1992 Shaq was a wrecking ball of a big man.

Shaq in his prime was just as athletic, bigger, far more skilled, and had twice the basketball iq as Dwight.

Shaq is the man, however it seems like he has been jealous of Howard since day 1. So what, he wanted to be called superman too.... you can t own the right to a nickname you didnt create. There a million supermans out there. Howard needs to stop being a bitch and respond with next question.

Shaq really hasn't been supportive of Howard TBH. Howard has always had good things to say about him (from what I've heard). Shaq has always seemed to dislike Howard.

That being said OBVIOUSLY Diesel> Howard in a blow out.

Shaq has always been a popular unique character in the NBA.

1. I bet Shaq doesn't see Howard as a comparable player to him. That is correct Howard is no where near as good as Shaq and never will be.

2. Howard has copied a lot of the way Shaq has marketed himself and while some might consider it flattering it probably annoys the shite out of Shaq.

It was Shaq's trademark for a while. Dude showed up to the '97 Florida game with a big black leather trench coat with the superman logo on it. It was on the headrests of his cars. It was his thing and Howard tried to take it while Shaq was still in the league. Even going so far as to call himself the "new" superman a couple of times.

paraphrasing: SHAQ (1) did not come to practice and (2) was out of shape and (3) had no work ethic.

(1) I never heard that;

(2) I heard that and am not sure what to think of that---the pro-Shaq crowd makes arguments that Shaq hit and played at 350# because he wanted to bulk up to take the pounding on him--not sure which is true--probably a little of both;

(3) disagree that he had no work ethic. top 20% of the hard workers in the league? no, probably not, but except for free throws, I do believe he improved from year to year for the first several years of his career.

This is the reason.

edit: The S in Superman = The S in Shaq. Man of Steel. Superman S tattoo. It's Shaq's thing. It was all over his house, cars, etc. He never called himself superman per say but it worked for him.

Howard is just an athletic muscular center. Why copy the Superman thing for your little marketing gimmick? I just think Howard is kinda dumb.

Talk about a slanted article.
That writer is to Howard as the MSM is to Obama.
He even says that Shaq is now paid to give his opinion but then quickly continues to bash him for....giving his opinion.

And what a Laker blowing piece.
quote:

From Mikan to Chamberlain, Abdul-Jabbar to Shaq, the great centers always find their way to the Lakers.
Dude's purple & gold glasses are glued on more than the Miles suck offs. What about Russell/Olajuwon/Malone/Walton/et al?
