LSU stadium just isn't as loud as 2003 Georgia and 2007 Florida and never will be with the new fans coming in. The rich who leave at halftime and never yell the whole game and the other bandwagon ones. The games just aren't as loud as they could be. LOL at people spending 1500 a ticket. They probably have a 50k truck and live in a banged up trailer but will spend that money and miss out on a truck note. I guarantee most who are buying those 1000 dollar ticket really can't afford them but will waste their mortgage or truck note.

I love the belief that you have to give THOUSANDS in order to sniff the upper echelon of TAF or to get tickets. I am ranked in the upper 3000s & got two tickets to the NC game. Outside of my two endzone season tickets and the required tradition fund donation, I give $50 a month to TAF. That's a whopping $600 a year if you do not include my season tickets. Completely tax deductible & I get to say what program my money goes towards.

Of course, I have been doing that since I graduated in 1999, so there is a reward for longevity.

I think the opposite. If you are going to shell out 2g for a ticket, you are one hell of a tiger fan. No way in hell would I buy a ticket for that, and I bleed P&G

You should probably know that giving 600 dollars a year vs omeone else giveing 100 dollars a year is no different .. the points are the same.
Save the 500 dollars.
Free advice, no charge.

I graduate in May. I am going to grad school, and will be poor for a long time most likely. But I would eventually like to have season tickets. How can I start donating wisely? I'd appreciate any advice

I love going to the games, but this is something that I want to watch with my kids and my wife all of them are big LSU fans. I am just going to have everyone over to the house and have a party. I can buy everything including the booze for the price of one ticket.

Free Enterprise and Capitalism do not include price gouging. A gas station is not allowed to charge $10 a gallon because it's the only gas station around. There can be slight fluctuations in price but what we are talking is flat out gouging. I truly believe there should be a cap on ticket inflation through legislation to allow everyone an equal opportunity to attend games. Don't even try to compare this with some socialist agenda. I am a card carrying republican and believe in a capalitistic society but I have absolutely no shot to take a family of four to a game like this and that's not right.

there are a limited number of tickets and a lot more people who want them at face value than there are tickets

whatever the fair price should be it is obviously more than the face value they were originally sold for

Is it just at LSU, or is this a new phenomenon spready across the country?

So you are telling me that it is proven that having money excludes you from being loud?

Awesome!!

Idiot. I guarantee you that most of the people who are paying $1,500 for a ticket are very successful financially. Granted, someone may stretch the bank to go to this game, but most people that are going are doing just fine.

When you voice such a stupid opinion as fact, it is evident why you are not financially successful enough to go to the game.

LMAO. Where is that right protected in the Constitution?

Ok, so what do you suggest? Sell the tickets for $300 each and have a lottery for those who want to attend? Then you will only have people who are lucky going to the game. But I bet that is how you feel already, that only the lucky people who were born rich can see LSU play in the BCSNC.

A gas station can charge what they please. There's always another gas station around. People selling tickets can ask what they please. There obviously are folks willing to pay, or they'd be asking less. More power to them. They have the ticket.

Go to New Orleans, enjoy the atmosphere and find a bar with a nice large HDTV. To hell with being in the stadium. That does not interest me anymore.

This is what my brother, sister in law, and several other friends and I are doing. My brother and sister in law live on the North Shore and we have several college friends coming down. We're renting a van with driver and going downtown late that morning, eating somewhere nice, and then watching the game at an Alabama alumni watch party. I'll get by only spending about $250 while being able to soak up the atmosphere and not have the hassle of overspending for a ticket.

I have an Alabama relative coming to the game that can afford to pay some of the ridiculous prices that tickets are going for but he won't pay that much for a ticket on principle. Says he can't in good conscience spend over $1,000 for a ticket and doesn't care that it's a ticket to a national championship game.
