As a lifetime LSU fan and now an 19 year old freshman student, Les Miles is my coach. I started going to games in '03 but other than Saban's last two years, which I was very young during (although I vividly remember the streaker run across the field before the Oregon State game in '04), I've never known another man on the sidelines for LSU. Some of my greatest memories are in tiger stadium on Saturday night and I have Les Miles to thank in a huge way for that. From eating grass to 5-5 on fourth downs to ruining my favorite Christmas present of all time (2012 BCS champ tickets), Les will always be my childhood coach and he was a damn good one. This needed to happen and I'm excited about the future, but I want to sincerely thank Les for all the incoherent sentences, weird antics, wins and great memories. I wish him the best in the future and GEAUX TIGERS

Get over it. This is the real world where people's job performance has to meet a certain standard or they find someone who can do it for cheaper.

I get that and I'm 100% in support of getting rid of him. But I very much enjoyed growing up watching his teams.

There was nothing wrong with his commentary and he acknowledged it was time

I'm graduating in May. I would like to say screw Les Miles for ruining LSU football for my student years. What a joke of a coach you became after 2011.

As a season ticket holder for 25 years under 4 coaches Les was the most class act of the bunch. Off the field he did nothing but good things for LSU and it's image. Bottom line is with top 10 recruiting classes LSU has fallen to the bottom of the SEC west.

I agree, Im a few years older. But I did not start watching football until 2005, so Les is all I know. Hes been a great one. But it was past time for him to leave.

Kid, you ain't seen shite! I had to live through the Curly Hallman era. I'm just thankful they didn't wait and let this program get to that point again............and that's exactly where it was headed if they had not gone ahead and pulled the trigger. Regardless how great a recruiter Les was, it was just a matter of time before recruiting would have started suffering miserably. ALL OF THE RECRUITS these days sit in front of the TV (or on prospective teams') sidelines every Saturday and watch the teams they are interested in playing for. I don't care HOW GREAT a person Les might be, at some point these recruits will decide they want to play for a WINNER!
