Actually Ed Orgeron appointed himself as DC his first season at Ole Miss. He acknowledged it was a mistake and also overstepped trying to micromanage offensive coaches and their jobs.
So he has experience, just nothing that you would say qualifies as successful experience. He's a guy that has bad experiences and therefore might not make those mistakes again so there's that going for us.
