I can only address what I have seen and I have seen a great deal I like.

- The team has been ready for each game

CEO has the vibe of the young men and has them like Nick at Bama playing week to week. I love it and it is fresh compared to Les and his ups and downs each season

- The team plays for 60 minutes and the staff doesn't seem to let off the gas in the second half

Just do what we do and play as many kids as you can

- It is all about football with very little other stuff going on. CEO during the week talks football and answers football questions - period - I love it !

CEO is what he is and nothing more. You get Cajun football talk and all he wants to talk about is his team getting to play who ever on Saturday - Love it

- Winning football - At the end of the day as a fan we all want the same thing - Win the Football Game

I have been very proud of each Lsu football game that CEO has coached as the Lsu Head Football coach.
We did not have QB play against Bama and Bama won the game based on getting more out of their QB.

If CEO becomes our head coach I will be very happy and if Joe decides to offer the job to Jimbo that is fine but - I will have more concerns about the game to game with Jimbo then I will have with CEO.

Jimbo - look at his record in a weaker league - has a record of losing to teams that he should never have lost to. Just saying

I have a want for more out of our QB. I know who can get it. and who can recruit. and who has NC rings as a head coach and OC.

LSU statistically had its best offenses, Best
Schemes, Best development of Qbs under Fisher. He has proved himself and has won at FSU with a good DC. But now he is doing some of it with one hand tied behind his back. He doesn't have the money allocated to hire and retain good assistants. LSU's postion coaches make more than his cordinators. Pruitt left, and fisher had to settle on Kelly Bc of lack of money. Now FSU fans want to Blame Jimbo on their crap season Bc of defense. Anyone trying to make the argument simply comparing resumes and trying to punch holes in fisher's needs to take off their purple and gold glasses. Never let emotion defy logic.

The dude is basically an upgraded version of Les Miles and i mean that in a good way. He will let the Coordinators do their jobs. Les Miles was a recruiter and a players coach but couldnt stay away from play calling. Well guess what Ed O can recruit ,motivates the team and seems to be a players coach. Les won sec/national championship with good defensive coordinators not because he was an offensive genius. We have a great defensive coordinator now. I'm on board with Coach O is he closes out the season with victories

I understand the odds are that if Jimbo wants the job he will get the offer. I also think that if Jimbo uses Lsu to get more money out of State I unlike many of you will be happy with CEO.

Yes I am basing what I am saying about CEO right now and not what he did as the Head Coach at Ole Miss.

I work with a x-Saint and he is very close with the LF7 family with New Orleans ties. Our running back coach that I don't know his name with CEO will own the state of Louisiana in recruiting. He named 3 big time OC's with Lane being one them but assured me that Lane will be moving onto a HC position.

He thinks it will come down to money with Jimbo need close to 6 mil total a year to move and the value of the CEO hire. I agree with him that CEO winning the next 2 games in a big way with the value hire CEO will be might warm many of the board and Joe to the CEO hire.

I know this will make many on the Rant blow a few brain cells but it is going to be what it is going to be.

Did you just compare the most successful coach in lsu history to a career dline coach? My god this board is full of dumbasses.

You do realize that milea has actualy had success turning around a program right?

Ugh

Too much hinges on an OC hire and I don't see LSU beating Bama with O as HC

It's truly sad if we can't do better

I would prefer LSU have a HC who can lock down one side of the ball

Like an urban or Saban

Not a guy who constantly depends upon both coordinator hires

I just don't see LSU beating Saban with another Miles

Okie St got better once Miles left

lol he was very avg there and care to an already established LSU program

Imagine an actual above average coach at an established LSU

but people just want to settle for another Miles because they win games on talent akone

So wish LSU would stop settling and actually get an above avg HC to pair with this talent

LSU recruits itself and has proven even an avg coach can have success while established. Miles and the interim have shown this..

I'm sure Bama would be thrilled with O lol

look Rickdaddy, I have enjoyed most of your posts on here; you seem to be pretty level headed and mature (unusual on this board). but I disagree with characterizing Coach O as a "career dline coach". it's like once you've held that job you are not allowed to better yourself. Coach O has had 3 stints at being HC. yes, he fricked up his opportunity at ole miss by micro managing. he LEARNED to change. he did very well in his other 2 chances to be the HC. I simply do not think it fair to hold a person down because he had a failure on his resume. I was a sales manager for 35 years and some of my best guys had a failure before I hired them. the difference was they admitted their failure and corrected the reason for it.

I understand wanting someone else. hiring coach O is risky and may not work out but name a coach we can get that's any different. I agree that Jimbo is probably the least risky and I would rather him too, esp if we keep Aranda and coach O. Louisiana is a small state and LSU needs the recruiting of Coach O, Juluke (sp) and BDP no matter who the HC is.

Coach O will only be as good as his assistants. look at FSU's year; the same holds true for Fisher. Fisher's edge comes only from his proven QB development. if Coach O can hire a good OC that can develop QB's we will be great.

Les Miles was successful because of great Defenses not because he was a great coach or offensive mind.It was the one area he couldn't interfer. You know why he was successful because he always seemed to have the right defensive guy and could recruit.Coach O can recruit and currently has the best Defensive coach in the country. You dont think if retained he wont do everything in his power to keep him.You know why LSU always sucked on offense because Les kept interfering in it.Les Miles Downfall Was Hiring His Buddy Cam Cameron and not so great OC's.Fisher orginally left because of Miles interfering on offense. Coach O will find the best available OC and let him do his job unlike les Miles. I believe Coach O will be the choice if the top coaches aren't there and im good with that.

I hate this arguement. It's literally the first thing on the scope of work for a head coach. Its like saying TigerCliff777 is a great employee because he shows up to work on time every day.

Did you watch the bama game? The team may have been ready to play, but the coaches let them down. Terrible game plan. They played right into what bama is best at stopping. They actually looked worse on offense then when miles was here. Wasted timeouts, bad clock management and O looked confused on the sideline with no answer to what was happening.

If O thinks he can run a pro style offense against bama and be successful, he and we will be disappointed in the outcome of future LSU/bama games.

You really need to educate yourself.
Before miles got to OSU they 1 winning season from 1986-2001. Miles then had 3 winning seasons. Under miles Oklahoma state went from getting recruiting class in the 80's &90's to having too 25 classes.
Miles turned that program around. Miles had more success at Oklahoma state than saban had at msu. Fact.

Thanks for this. I now know i can ignore anything else you say abour cfb.

He has had 1 stint and failed miserably. You cant count interim as a head coaching stint.

I would love to keep o on staff but he has done nothing to warrant being the head coach at lsu.

Les Miles has actually turned a shite program into a respectable program.
He did it at Oklahoma state.
Also, les miles has been an offensive coordinator.

Les miles has had some of the most productive offenses in lsu history.

Aranda isnt gonna want to stay at a place that passed him over for hc by HIRING a guy that WAS his underling. Aranda has a far better resume than ed orgeron AND ITS NOT CLOSE.

Just hoping that Jimbo Fisher will turn down LSU again. That will mean Coach O is next in line for the LSU Head Coaching job.
