t did. LSU wins the SEC West, and hopefully the SEC title next week. It mattered a lot. Helluva lot.

This is what it means to LSU...what does it mean for Bama....A shot at the NC.

No kidding. Pretty easy to figure out when they aren't even playing in the game.

So then why ''let'' Bama go? A great team, no doubt, but when all is said and done they didn't win the division or the conference.

BCS really isn't necessarily concerned with conference titles. Lots of teams play in BCS games and no conference title.

we had 2 losses, we may have been a better team but we didnt deserve to be there. we lost to auburn who finished third in the west, if we took care of business maybe it woulda been different but we were not desserving to play in the championship game.

You quoted me, then wrote a paragraph arguing the same thing that I said. But acted like I was wrong.

and georgia was not the 2nd best team that year we were better and oh st was better. georgia may have been the hottest team, but werent the 2nd best.plus tenn beat georgia 35-14 that year so they weren't deserving to play in the sec championship game.

Again.

Exactly. Well they're Bama so let's just plug them in there.

Uhhh, LSU already beat them in Tuscaloosa.

Well they're Bama so let's just plug them in there.

The suck off of Bama is sickening. It wouldn't happen if it was another team.

You guys should WANT to play us. We're in a no win situation. We lose either way. We'll get you next year, it's not our season.

I really don't care who LSU plays, but Ok. State would be an easy win IMO. Bama is the best team outside of LSU in the nation IMO. I am just preparing for the the most likely scenario.

No matter what happens though, LSU is the West and most likely SEC champs. Nothing arguable about that.

Not talking BCS games.... BCS championship.

Within the last 10 years.....

The only one I can think of is OU in 2003.

Are there any others?

Forget the side-by-side comparisons, strength of schedule, better resumes, "they had their shot," didn't win their division, will play one less game, blah blah blah. At the end of the day the two best teams in the country should play in the BCSNCG.

Are you trying to make an argument for OSU?

OSU if they win against Oklahoma will have a better record against tougher competition than Alabama.

Gotta agree with ya there!
And I think it'd be fun to beat Bama again. I just read your opinion of the titles and can understand why you view it that way. I still think it's unfair that Bama gets in but it's outta our control so we should just roll with it. It'd be fun to play another conference though...one of my favorite parts of bowl season.

10 teams a year play in BCS games so yes, there are plenty.

In the ship, I think only two have. The point being that the BCS isn't concerned with conference titles necessarily. It's concerned with rankings (except for AQ teams, non NC.)

Oh, I get it they (bama) should play for it not on the merits of their season but because you BELIEVE they are better.

It is charged with matching the two best teams in the country in a national championship game. And the two best teams in the country are LSU and Bama.

Those "two best teams" were matched up already during the season. Rest assured, that game DID happen. Hell, it was even dubbed "The Game of the Century". And Bama had the advantage!

Rankings? Over a team we already beat. Who didn't do any sort of conference championship.

I'm not going to keep going, you've read what I had to say. Like I said, I respect you as a fan but I can't agree with you on this.

No hard feelings though. You're one of my fav. posters.

Good points. I don't think any LSU fan thinks Bama is necessarily happy with the circumstances. I can't say I blame ya'll for wanting to go the the NCG though.

Didn't this scenario happen a few years ago with Michigan and Ohio St? Why didn't they rematch?

Absolutely it did. In '06. Last game of the season between the two.

Why didn't they rematch? Voters.

They flip flopped Michigan with Florida.

You gumps are so proud of your loss that you never mention your wins.
funny thing is the only team that was rated in the top 10 that the gumps did play was LSU!..and we all know how that affair turned out...Cant count Arky at the time Ala played them cuz they werent in the top 5 or 10 at that time like they were when LSU played Arky...LSU meanwhile played and beat 4 teams that were ranked in the top 5 in the country!!...

I guess if you really enjoy the sec championship more than a national championship then yeah i guess it wold be worth risking injury and putting the NC at risk. I personally have little interest in the sec championship when a bcs title is there for the taking.

There was about a 40 point difference(Human) leading into the last week. UF played an extra game and won while UM sat at home. UF jumped them.
