So, Alabama's biggest crime is being in the SEC West? Let's just switch Alabama and OSU, conference-wise. Bama's in the Big12, OSU in the SECW. Bama is undefeated, OSU lost only to LSU. Then, does Bama deserve a shot? They're the same team as they were. The real question I'd like you to answer: Is Alabama the 2nd best team in the country? That, truly truly, is all that matters.

There is absolutely no objective way to determine that. It stands that there is no controversy about who #1 is. Forget Houston....they're in a pathetic conference.

My question to you is: What is more important, a loss on the road or a loss at home? A loss at home should carry more weight, no matter the opponent.

If I were you, I wouldn't try to argue your point as to why Alabama "should" be in the game.

The 2 best teams did play....on Nov. 5th.
Moral victories don't count in college football...wait....they do now.

What a precedent this has set.

What angers so many outside of the realm of Bama is how you folks seem ENTITLED to be in this game.

Honestly, I could care less, because beating you guys twice in the same season may finally quiet the incessant grumbling from your fans.

Teams get hosed all the time. Bama had their chance to prevent being "hosed" and Failed at home.

How does undefeated Auburn feel about the BCS.

Guess who else doesn't have to play a conference championship game, and won't win their division? OSU.

Yeah, they don't have those. Which is more to my point, we're punishing a team for their conference alignment instead of rewarding them on their merit.

Yet if they win on Saturday they win their conference.

I don't get the argument that Bama get's to "skip" anything. They don't win two titles that LSU does.

That's not what he's saying.

You know damn well that the SEC championship means something.

Thus, Bama not playing for that, even winning the west, yet they get to "skip" over that and have a trip to New Orleans for losing.

That's crazy. There are certain steps to get to a National Championship, we've met all those. Bama has not. Bama is a great team but they haven't won the division nor did they win the SEC.

But they're #2 and OMG, they're Bama so let's give them plane tickets now. Screw that.

Depends on if you are a glass half empty kind of guy. Bama doesn't get to play in the SECCG. LSU does and bring home the SEC title. Looks like a win/win to me.

Yet people are thinking this is some huge plus for Bama. It's not. It is for LSU.

This isn't really an LSU vs. Bama thing for me. It's bama vs. The rest of the country.

I'm a big glass half full guy.

But like I just said, how does Bama losing, not winning the west nor the SEC, give them a trip to the BCS NG?

We already beat them. WE ALREADY BEAT THEM. On the road.

Why not make it like the baseball playoffs, best out of seven. sarcasm

This is ludicrous to award a team that can't even win it's division a trip to the BCS NG. It's just nuts. But it's Alabama so I guess it's ok now..... it's freaking retarded.

To me it's Bama, Ok. St, VT and Stanford. Only one of these teams will play a CCG.

He is talking about the SEC title game and how Bama getting left out is seen as a good thing for them.

Exactly. It's like, "well they're Bama so they're entitled to that." Oh they lost?

Shhhhh...... they're Bama.

They already have that dumb mentality now. Let's add to that.

Forget the side-by-side comparisons, strength of schedule, better resumes, "they had their shot," didn't win their division, will play one less game, blah blah blah

Translation: ignore all these pesky things that are used to compare two teams bc they don't favor bama.

Hold OSU to these standards. Will they win their divison? No, don't have one. Will they win their conference championship? No, don't have one. Will they win the SEC? No, they aren't in it.

That's my point. Whether you say "they had their shot," "didn't win their division" etc, to everyone who's replied to my post, the very bare-bones basis of every single argument youve had is that Bama is in the SEC and OSU is not, therefore OSU deserves it.

The point is, on Nov 5th we were supposedly playing fir the national championship. They lost. But well I guess that game didn't actually matter.

Yeah, I seem to be in the minority to think it is probably a plus for LSU to play for the SEC title.

Why do you keep leaving out the fact that they would win their conference if they beat Oklahoma?

The fact that you keep doing this shows that you know bama doesn't deserve to play us again.

Let's say Ryan baker or TM or JJ or any key player breaks an ankle against UGA...still a win-win?

I have been. In case you didn't know, the bedlam game is for the Big 12 (what's left of it) championship. So if they win, they will be labeled the Big 12 champions. I'm very aware there is no longer a Big 12 conference game.

The same can be said for VT. The beat Clemson, which I don't want, but they'll be the ACC conference champions.

So we could potentially have 2 teams that won their conference (I'm not even talking about LSU) and here's another team that didn't even win it's division but they get the green light to go to the show.

Your thoughts?

It did. LSU wins the SEC West, and hopefully the SEC title next week. It mattered a lot. Helluva lot.
