I don't know why people keep saying this. Plenty of true freshman have played for plenty of teams without it fricking up their confidence. Just because some people want to blame J Lee's shortcomings on being played his redshirt freshman year doesn't mean other QB's can't handle playing early in their careers or that it will permanently damage their psyche in some way.

seriously. just because lee had a terrible redshirt freshman season doesn't mean EVERY young qb will do that. that was 6 years ago

Why? What would be the problem with giving the guy with the least game time experience more snaps? Exactly what God-awful thing might result?

If something were to happen to Jennings, let's say an injury in a game, would you rather Harris come in fresh off the bench? I said anything less than equal playing time, the more the better, for Harris. Not a knock on Jennings, he's just started and played more games thus far.

Get the two of them on the same page now while you have this, no disrespected intended to New Mexico State, but a cupcake. Next week it's away at Auburn and the week after that, we play at Florida.

That's what I mean.

the next opponent, however, could frick up Harris's confidence. it's a risky move starting a true freshman against an SEC opponent, esp on the road. damn risky. no matter what the fans say.

After thinking about it, around Wednesday, I changed my tune. I'd rather Jennings start against Auburn, but I want Harris to get snaps early (like early within the 2nd quarter at least). Do this for UF too. IMO though, after those two games, it will be clear about who should be the main guy home against Kentucky.

I think anything less than Jennings and Harris splitting equal playing time in tomorrow's game would be a mistake.

I really don't want to see that same super vanilla package we used against ULM tomorrow.

Take advantage of this opportunity for the players to learn the plays. It's the last one they're going to get before a gauntlet of tough SEC teams.

Same. Let each get around 15-20 pass attempts. Whether they take off running with any is their business, but I want at least 35-40 passes in this game. Looking at their run defense, we should be able to run for a whole lot easily, so I'm guessing we hit around 75-80 plays. That still gives us around 35-40 carries outside of non designed QB runs. ULM at least had a decent front 7, NMST does not.
