We've fired Miles and Cam. We now want to fire our AD and University President. Many are not happy with Orgeron. When a fanbase wants the majority of leaders fired we have a problem. And if the new hires don't win big fans will want them fired also.

Is our program officially trending down?

Don't confuse the opinions on this site as the "fanbase".

We need to clean house. You saw what happened to Arky after they tried to 'retain' Petrino's people after firing him. If you're going to fire someone, fire them. It's fricking amazing how LSU is trying to hold onto something that no longer exists, and history says that will fail. We are fricked.

We just hired a guy to be our head coach who was completely out of coaching two years ago to try and 'keep on keeping on' Miles' people. WTF? When has that ever worked????

Based on the rumors during the coaching search, I was about to become a modest Alleva fan for once... until he went full Alleva again on this hire. So, yes, I want him gone.

To be honest that's stupid.
They are firing the coaches that were ineffective.
Do You really want Aranda fired? Coach O?

O deserves his chance. He's got a lot of traits that miles had. Players coach, recruits well.. If he hires well he will be fine. He wants to go to a modern offense and La is loaded with Thr athletes to do that.. The power spread is where he wants to head with the offense.. We have HS's all over the state that run that scheme. It will bode well for Lsu offense in the future. Recruiting isn't falling off like many think. We sittin on a top 5 class as we speak with several big targets still in play. We have the best DC in the country. Ppl panicking over the OC hire needs to realize noone is hiring OC's yet. Plenty of time for that.

According to who? The binder? Ponamsky? Going off public statements made by Ed, seems like he has no idea what direction he wants the offense to go in.

And member when no one was hiring head coaches yet, LSU had 2 month head start on everyone, what happened?

Let's be fair to Coach O and see how this recruiting class finishes and how the 2017 season goes. It will be his team now.

But Alleva has squandered opportunities on several fronts to advance LSU athletics forward. His track record here is barely mediocre, if that, and he needs to be shown the door.

Based on what? And a lot of the same traits as Miles? Great, we can continue to go 8-4 and not play a meaningful game after November 1st. And we're currently sitting on a top 5 class that Miles built, and O has almost destructed in 2 weeks by losing both QB's, and not getting any of the top 3 from in State.

There are always people calling for sports firings. Generally, they just need to be ignored.

I am not happy about what played out from Nov '15 until Nov '16, but O is the coach now. I'm definitely not asking for him to be fired.

This is so true. We have a lot of negative people on this board that complain a lot about things that can't be undone now. It's also the echo chamber effect on social media.

Time to move on and support the program.

Yes, the program hit a plateau, we fire the coach, hire what will turn out to be an inferior coach and people want to question fans that don't like it?

These administrators and coaches are paid to do a job. It is reasonable for a multitude of reasons to expect that LSU football be more competitive than it has been over the last few seasons. Accountability comes with the job and when you aren't getting results, changes become necessary.

Unfortunately, the guy we have making the changes is not a truly effective executive.
