Watching replay it would have been damn close if the catcher hangs on. Actually that is why the catcher pulled his glove down so fast. If he would have waited long enough to actually catch the ball, I really think Freeman beats it.

Our pitching was erratic. Hitting was sporadic. There was never a flow/rhythm to our play where the team seemed to settle in.

This game was won by speed and aggressive base running. The threat certainly got in their heads and forced errors. There were a few great moments (i.e. the double play, Paps HR, Poche's pitching) but we won that game with speed.

If Freeman had not hesitated at second; which he rarely does on a base hit to right, he scores easily when the outfielder failed to catch the ball. All that said, Dup may not have got third without the play at the plate.

I've always been a fan of "be aggressive and make them make plays" type of baseball. Florida State didn't make the plays that LSU forced them to make. It frustrates this board from time to time because it doesn't always work but that philosophy stole a game last night. If you don't coach aggressiveness Cole isn't trying to go home on that play.

we couldn't believe he went home there. Thank the Lord he was safe, but that's a crazy risk at 3rd with 1 out.

he was a dead duck but catcher dropped the ball and the throw was high... I support the aggressive play though!
