JB Edwards is just pulling a pretty smart move for his position. He is making terrifying threats to the state (TOPS, football, etc) so that he gets what he wants in the upcoming special session.

He needs or wants something that would not have passed. Now, when he saves TOPS and football, he will be the hero and he can hae whatever he pleases. If not, congressional heads will roll.

I still don't quite understand why necessary tax increases are such an evil thing.

Apparently Louisians like living in a state that's broker 'n dick with an under educated populace.

Why don't you guys raise taxes a little to solve budget problems? We had the same issue in California, they raised taxes and we had budget surplus quickly. People will not feel the impact of the tax hike and all these politician play games for their own interests.

Sadly this is true. I love Louisiana and will retire there, but having lived in Texas for the last several years it gives you a whole different perspective.

People usually do this from a position of weakness. It's a pathetic move and reflects poorly on him.

Why are so many people moving away from California? Why do so many Californians own homes in Nevada and claim they live there why they actually live and work in California.

I am not saying I agree with him but it is a brilliant political decoy.

I am not saying he is my hero but Louisiana will allow him to have carte blanche because they are afraid of losing TOPS and football.

I didn't vote for him. I think he is a scoundrel but he is going to get his way by bullying Louisiana into submission.

People will give him what he wants and his bargaining chip is the future of our kids...

BUT the sky is not falling.
