Etling will surprisingly rush for 60 yards against Bama, they wont be expecting that.

No. Please no. If he could prove that he knows how to slide, then maybe. But we dont want him getting killed out there in the first quarter. We need him for the rest of our November schedule.

Simple play to beat Bama with will be utilizing our TE's alot more on short passing routes.

I have to believe there are a few wrinkles the staff has not yet shown for this game. I expect some shocker plays - but I am not too big on trickery. DeShawn in the flats would be awesome or utilize Jeter height.

I agree but if we are inside the 10 and they're giving it to us take it. Basically if they're not defending it and using it gets us a score.

None of this matters if the O-line can't give Etling time in the pocket. That's my biggest concern. If Etling has time, the offense should be able to move the ball.

Etling will get smashed well after he throws a ball and no flag will be thrown by the second quarter.

I don't disagree, but I don't think we can utilize them short, there are waaay too many disguised coverages up front to risk that IMO, I think the TE can be exposed down the seam and corner later in the game.

I think you set that up with rubs and picks early. It is hard to get off press quick enough to keep the Bama DL off the QB without some multiple routes.

The one play I think will happen is Fournette throws a pass for a touchdown catching Bama completely off guard.

This is not a good plan. He's not built physically to endure that kind of punishment.
This game will hinge on our ability to complete the 10-15 yard pass...taking a bit of their aggressiveness away at the point of attack, and THEN it will open up our running lanes. We've already proven last year that the "run it till they wear out" theory doesn't apply to Bama's talent...pass first, then run.

It is LF7 receiving out of the backfield, and it will always be a running back receiving out of the backfield. It will always give that defense fits. We did it last year and were staring a TD in the face but LF7 dropped the ball as he was looking upfield

And a simple task of not letting Hurts run around the edges for first downs and td's.

Fournette needs to catch the ball some. And not in the flat. I'm talking wheel routes, circle routes out of the backfield, something where he's moving north-south upon catching.

I think this is the fun part of ancticipation, we don't know what O has planned, we just know he does and the gumps know the same thing, they don't know

We know we will not be running LF repeadtedly at an 8 man front, play after boring play

That's about the dumbest thing I have ever read on here. Don't play scared with our QB but don't be stupid.

NOOO!!

No misdirection or backfield plays against the Gumps. No bubble screens. Gumps play assignment football and spend a lot of time in practice learning how to shed blockers in the open field. They will blow that shite up in the backfield for a loss.

You have to beat them straight-up(and its not easy) and find creative ways to open running lanes out of passing looks. Short, quick passing, draw plays, jump balls, back shoulder throws, etc.

I think where many teams fail is they think they have to trick them to beat them because they are physically talented. Misdirection, screens, etc. All that does is play into the Gumps advantage in their assignment discipline and their speed. You have to beat them the hard way.

he may extend drives with some scrambles but I do not look for him to be running any intentional zone read or QB draws.
