While the NC certainly was hard to digest, I believe 2012 will be awesome because:

1) We have the foundation of a great Def coming back, with some great young talent to step in the positions voided. Looking for a good year from Freak and Ferguson. Also, the younger LB core did well this season, it should be a strong point this coming season.

2) We didnt lose much on Off. with great talent filling the couple spots on the line. I am very excited to see Collins begin his career. All the running backs will be back. OBJ, Shep, Wright, Landry.. should be plenty talent at WR. Hoping to see JR on the field somewhere, somehow.

3) The QB position will be improved. I am looking for great things from Mett. He has all the tools around him to be successful.

4) We have Wing coming back punting, and we have TM7 coming back to return punts.

5) Chavis will be back as our Def. Coord. with most of his same Def. back, which should be a carry over from 2011 season.

6) CLM has demonstrated in the past that he is good at correcting things that need to be corrected (ex: co-def. coord., Crowton, Periloux, I am sure I missed some), I expect the develpment and use of Mett at QB will be everything it should be.

I am sure I missed some, help me out Rantards...

He has learned from mistakes and one should be that he needs to find a real offensive minded coordinator. Krags was supposed to be that Guy but he stepped down, so the right thing to do to me is place stud back where he belongs as the O Line coach and get a real Offensive minded coach AND LET THIS OFFENSE GEAUX!!!!

Agree with most of that. But my over used phrase of the Les Miles era is "I hope he learned his lesson and improves" He hasn't learned the lessons yet.

I felt great about 2012 before the NC game, but now I don't trust Miles's judgement. Also, his stubbornness is a detriment to LSU's success.

Slim I agree if the story is correct and he has fired stud because he wanted to start Lee, he's lost this team. Stud is loved by the players.

Watch and see if stud leaves if he does next year will be a very bad year.

Personally, I beleave the story.

I already noticed the QB position in the garbage time that Mett received. In the NWST game, Mett showed me something that neither JJ or Lee could accomplish. A simple swing pass in to the flats IN STRIDE. Two step drop and the ball is delivered on the money. He also hit Boone or Wright (can't remember) on a nice flag route. Just watch the improvement.

It just takes Les two years longer to learn them than the rest of us.

Here are my reasons:
1. Easier schedule - we get a rebuilding Bama at home and I don't see Arkansas doing that well this next year with the departure of their 3 headed monster at Wide Receiver. Also, I don't buy that their defense has gotten any better.
2. WHile we will miss RR, I think Mett more than balances that out. Add into that the fact that our running corps has another year together and we will only lose 1 starting O-linemen. I do see us scoring as much as we did this year.
3. Losing Claiborne and Brockers will really hurt. However, it is time for the young guys that have been waiting at the CB position to really step up. Also, we got the Freak to fill in for Brockers and we got some other guys that didn't get to play that much last year stepping in.
4. We have all our playmakers on special teams coming back.
5. I think our team will hopefully be pissed off that they didn't win it this year and will hopefully use that as motivation to make no mistake about who is the best team this year.
