Getting a DC that is an active recruiter

Hell, even a recruiting participant would be nice.

Aggies think Chavis is the real reason we got all those recruits man.

John Chavis sent all those players to the NFL.

I know he wasn't some great recruiter, but I thought Chavis helped with some of the SC/ NC kids, and the kids we're currently after in TN.

He did.

Don't let any uninformed poster change your mind on that.

LSU lost a great coach and a great representative for the program.

However, he did handle the final stages of his stay like a fricking titty baby.

also having a DC that can coach against a 2 minute offense would be nice.

Fresh ideas for how NOT to lose a game in the last minute.

His reputation helped. Name recognition.

Chavis was an absentee father for the recruiting side of football

If Chavis didn't recruit, why did dylon Mack cancel his visit the day after Chavis quit?

Jesus, man. Don't talk about shite of which you are unfamiliar. That kid is a fickle as a 15 year old girl.

Read all about that kid's drama on the RB.

I'm not saying Mack isnt full of drama, but to say Chavis wasn't recruiting is fricking stupid.

Speaking of 15 year old girls, I don't have Facebook. I can't read it

yes, he did. And was also instrumental in Clifton Garrett's recruitment. I don't know if that's a geographical thing (Midwest/Illinois/Chicago) or a Core 6 connection.

Biggest impact on recruiting is other coaches going out and saying "come play for Chief, look what he has put in the league". And as opposed to recruiting, Chief damn sure played a role in getting these guys NFL ready.

All that being said, there are coordinators out there that can "replace" all that. The transition will suck. But it can be done.

Did you see the last few minutes worth of defense play? It's obvious he was there coaching.

He may have swayed some recruits but recruiting wasn't his thing. I don't think he will be missed on the recruiting front. Seemed time for a fresh start on the D side of the ball as well.

All the talk of the "gayness" of the Aggies was a big draw for Chavis.
