Yes and Miles being gone. Miles helped Grimes coach the OL.

It's a little high but new coaching changes are usually accompanied with transfers

I understand transfers with a new coach but the numbers were extremely high and concern me

I agree with your line of thought but why is it higher at Oline than at other positions.

That is my question/concern.

Orgeron was already on the staff, Grimes, the position coach stays...

Uh no. Losing half of your depth isn't a little high. There's obviously a problem with the OL. Miles and Grimes both had a hand in coaching the OL. Obviously they didn't want to deal with Grimes any more. Teuhema is a case of a lack of discipline but the rest all fall on the coaches.

Maybe Miles was more hands-on with those guys than any other position group.

I'd have to see a list, but by and large most of those guys weren't gonna play because they weren't good enough or developed enough yet. I'm thinking of guys like Dodd, Chidi, George Brown. Sounds like Maea was just a knucklehead, and someone posted that KJ wanted to get on to life after football.

When I say not good enough, I'm judging by their place on the depth chart, and a guy like Dodd (who I thought looked good the couple times I remember seeing him in games) who was probably told he wouldn't get much time.

Miles played in college as an O lineman, if memory serves.

It is on the change of scheme and not on Grimes IMO. Miles was just a better head coach than these on players LOVING and playing hard for him.

I don't really think of Malone as quitting. Dude had a chance to get a really good law enforcement job and had to consider taking it. Hopefully he gets that same chance after this year. Not sure NFL is in his future.

Why not hire Miles to replace Grimes as oline coach... LSU is already paying Miles.

A: he would t take it. And
B: he wasn't that good at getting OTs. Miles always like getting big bruiser guard type players and stacking the line with them. If we are ever going to have a good passing game, we have to get some prototype OTs in here.

Miles brought in Grimes to recruit, like most of the position coaches here, great recruiters, so-so position coaches.

not a mass exodus from a program that we used to be perceived to be, maybe a qb or another skill position or two
