The biggest advantage of making a coaching change now is to have an established staff in place when Saban decides to retire. We go through our transition while Bama is at their peak and is already dominating the division. That gives us a 1-2 season opportunity to dominate while they rebound from their coaching change, which sets the tone for the next era of the SECW and they are playing catch up.

Also, look at the next era of rising coaches in the SEC. We need to get our next era coach in that's going to compete with these guys in the future... Fire away.

Don't think Saban is retiring anytime soon

You realize how much of a bitch we look like when everything we do always has Bama at interest?

It's pathetic. Good job.

It's reality buddy. Deal with it. They are the king of the division and our goal is to win the division.

If LSU just takes care of their business Bama isn't an issue. It's simple.

But it's embarrassing how everything we say and do is followed up with, "...because Bama..."

Texas will push hard for Saban. Win national championships at 3 different schools.

Get over Bama. It makes you look weak. This is what is wrong with the current coach, team, and fans. Y'all put too much into the Bama game and act like the season is over if they don't win. You do realize that if LSU would have won the rest of their games outside of Bama they would be right in the thick of the playoff hunt. Not saying they would get in but they would be right there and would have the second best loss outside of Notre Dame.

Al Davis said it best. Just win. All the bitching about Bama gets old.

Losing 5 in a row to Bama makes us look weak. It's natural to make business moves based on what is preventing you from being successful. Bama is preventing us from our goal. You people that think making moves based on Bama makes us look bad, are dealing with pride. The people who understand business and are in power of LSU football are looking at the long term and being proactive in their management to strategically get our program in better position.

My point is the fans put too much into the Bama game and if you don't think that trickles down to the players and coaches you are naive. This move is not being made because of the Bama game. If LSU was beating everybody but Bama this move would not be be happening.

Losing 5 in a row to Bama is probably better than losing 2 in a row to Arkansas and 2 out of 3 to Ole Miss. Pretty much everyone is losing to Bama right now.

Only because we couldn't make the move if all we lost to was Bama, due to perception. The people at the top would still be dissatisfied because we aren't reaching our goal. My pride hates making things all about Bama just like yours but it is what it is. You think the people at Samsung don't acknowledge that Apple is preventing them from being the best? They do, that's why every product they make is aimed at beating Apple.

Some people at the top have not like Miles since he was hired and have looked at any excuse to get rid of him. They are getting their wish and they could be right and might be right. The difference between your analogy and LSU is that if Samsung is losing to Apple they won't change anything. Nobody is beating Apple. The problem for the CEO of Samsung would occur is they started losing to the T-Mobiles of the world etc. because they were too worried about beating Apple.
