The national media will help more than hurt our coaching situation.

All eyes will be on this game because of the potential coaching situation. Watch the interest for this jog grow even more. I'm sure there will be a lot of talk after this game. Negative or positive statements from the media still makes this situation a very big deal.

I think most 4-5 star future recruits will look as LSU as a crumbling program and will not be interested in being part of a 4-8 year rebuilding program...

well if they have not looked at it that way already and are still on board then i think we will be fine especially with a homerun hire.

We have the bulk of our team back next year. We won't be in a rebuilding phase.

My take on this mess:
Miles and his staff underachieved with NFL talent.
Decisions were made months ago.
LSU lost Chavis because new Chavis contract tied to Miles. (Why do you think that clause was demanded by LSU?)
Coach list was compiled.
Coach(es)' agents were contacted using third parties.
LSU expected to have another mediocre season.
LSU unexpectedly goes 7-0, but loses next three by large margins.
Opportunity to implement firing of Miles.
Trigger is pulled.
Announcements forthcoming.
P.S. Don't forget Saban's reps contacted Alabama reps before start of 2006 season. Not a problem with that. It's how this business works.
