It is funny to me that to this day people still say Mauck was lucky and he just had all these people around him, like LSU never had talent around anybody else.

The bottomline is that 2003 season Mauck set an LSU record for TD passes in a season and had the 2nd highest total for passing yards in a season. (JRuss tied the TD record and passed Mauck for the 2nd highest passing yards season in 06)

He also threw clutch winning TDs in two tight games that year, the Georgia and Ole Miss games.

Was he the best? Hell no. He had a bad habit of untimely INTS, but he sure is damn underappreciated around here all the time.

Andrew Whitworth...has the most starts ever in LSU and SEC history and the 2nd most ever in NCAA history. He did not give a sack his senior and yet he rarely gets memtioned among the greatest LSU linemen.

Very true.

I agree with Mauck...The thing that everyone forgets is that the 2002 LSU team was rolling along until he got injured in the swamp. Which mind you is the most dominating LSU performance i can ever remember there. The guy was 18-2 as a starter adn might not have lost another game in '02 had he not gotten hurt. Which i blame completely on our old coach for him still being in the game. Wasnt the score liek 31-7?

my 2 picks are 1)Ron Sancho and 2) Gabe Northern...both to me played heads over heels...neither was expected to be much if any of an impact while at LSU...JMO...

Joe Addai

Overshadowed by JV and Alley and Shyrone the whole time he was here, and the dude was so clutch. IMHO the real MVP of the 05/06 Peach Bowl! You would never hear Addai mentioned like CS or KW nowadays...also he ended up being the best RB we have put in the NFL in quite some time.

Harvey was responsible for the call in show going to a 6 second delay. Someone called in after a game in which Harvey was injured and asked,

"Is it true that Harvey got kneed in the pussy?"

What's your basis for this point?

I don't recall him being appreciated any less than any other decent, yet not really great, back to ever play at LSU.

I know he came in with a lot of hype (the recruiting game with A&M and story of switching to LSU at the last minute because of classmates singing the Aggie fight song), so maybe that's what you're referring to?

I agree with Jack Hunt, the dude busted heads and controlled the middle of the field as well as anyone in recent memory.

I know you did not ask me, but I was there when he played. I do not recall a single conversation about him that was entirely positive. "Sucks" was used a lot by people. Least popular running back ever at LSU.
