Matt Mauck...come on...he's top 10, but the dude had fewer passing yards than josh booty. he was OK he just had an INCREDIBLE supporting cast.

Im with you but honestly, harvey williams had more rushing yards than Addai, Robiskie, Toefeild, Mealy, Garry James , Brad Davis, AND Billy Cannon...but you never hear the dudes name...also he didnt have as many tds as he shouldve

Mauck came into the second half of the sec game and scored twice to beat a real good tenn. team.
then lead a good , very disciplined team to a title with little or no recognition. when i think back to that year it all Justin Vincent or the great D. Not qb.

dude was a really good running back and a phenomenal punt returner. seems like toefield got all of the headlines. barring injury, he would have been a top 10 RB in the NFL.

The only game he REALLY shined was that TENN game, with all the QB draws...he looked good.
Look who he had to throw to in 03...and the O-line he had. They made him look better than he was. I'll say he was ok...not great.

I'm gonna go with Quinn Johnson. Constantly opened up holes for ANYBODY that was at RB and never really even had his name mentioned in a game til this year.

Todd McClure hands down. Currently the Atlanta Falcons starting center. Made All-SEC but never really got the credit he deserved. Between him and Kevin Mawae, LSU has had 2 great centers in the NFL for a while now.

Harvey Williams was a huge star when he was playing at LSU. His injuries took a little of the shine off, but I don't think he was under-appreciated at all.

Most under-appreciated players, imo. Herb Tyler and Sammy Martin.

I disagree. Harvey was a huge name at LSU, who was a starter from day one, basically. He didn't have anyone behind him who was as well-rounded from Martin to Fuller to Slip.

I sometimes think he was overrated. From '89-90, he really didn't do a whole lot and he wasn't running behind Albergamo and Andolsek anymore, either. He looked bad in certain games - especially bigger games like Florida of '87, where he did score the GW TD, but also fumbled diving into the endzone in the 1st half. He basically stunk against Georgia that same year. I know he got hurt in the Superdome at the end of '87, but that was his last defining season as a Tiger.

That said, he is in the top 10 as far as LSU RB's of all time. He shined a lot, but he also got arrogant at times. All in all, he was a great player, but I think he gets too much props at times.

Andrew Whitworth...has the most starts ever in LSU and SEC history and the 2nd most ever in NCAA history. He did not give a sack his senior and yet he rarely gets memtioned among the greatest LSU linemen.
