Baseball is about who's hot at the right time. Sometimes getting your arse kicked early on is a good wake up call that you're not invincible and there's work to be done. That ump behind the plate was atrocious and it's hard to win when they're stealing on Papierski at will and he can't make a throw to 3rd. This team has talent, hopefully they put it together.

Positives:
Cole Freeman is an All American

Josh Smith and Jake Slaughter are both future AA. They're only gonna get better

Lange will never pitch that bad again

Deichmann will improve his patience at the plate

Romero got out of his slump (wish he would get the start at catcher and Woley at DH)

Austin Bain did a hell of a job

Duplantis has to be better than that garbage he's been showing at the plate

It's March 4. There's 105 days until Omaha. Enjoy the ride.

Still, I am glad I fell asleep after the first inning.

Eastern time zone, age and a big dose of cancer treatment meds makes me tired.

Romero had some pretty bad games behind the plate last year too.

Well pap is supposed to be a big league catcher so how did all of this happen? Also we lost to uno so not a surprise. I lost hope in mainieri after the 2014 season. Just like les. Has talent and can't coach it when it matters aka Omaha. Since the end of the 2009 season where we won the ship, lsu has won ONE game there. Unacceptable if u are supposed to be the best.

That is the lineup I wanna see give Romero a chance behind the plate and let Woley dh. It adds a bit more pop to the lineup. Romero can't do much worse then pap did behind the plate last night.

Of course they do. At the end of the year and you are trying to get a national seed, they all mean something.

Cole Freeman proved last night that he is the MVP of this team. Clutch at the plate and great defense. I don't think he gets intimidated by any team

Anytime LSU loses a game in baseball or football, it is the end of the world. Everyone knows that! They should both go undefeated ever year in both sports!!!!!

If we finish first in the sec it won't mean shite. It's all about the sec for us- has been for some time.

2 out runs killed us last night. Our bullpen is mediocre again so we will need Lange and Poche' to play at all sec levels all season for us to make a run
