A lot of personal and professional baggage coming along with him, if indeed Miles is let go and if indeed he is the guy. I wasn't crazy about how he handled Winston. Say what you want about Miles' product on the field, the off the field image of this program was about as stable and positive as it gets in CFB. Not perfect by any means, but he has kept us out of contention for the Fulmer Cup, and Miles' personal life and that of his assistants has been exemplary. I question whether Jimbo's tenure would be the same way.

And I believe there will be pro and anti-Jimbo factions, just like there were with Miles, and unless he exceeds Miles' performance considerably, and immediately, the negatigers will be out in force, again.

Given all that, I'd rather bring in a fresh face with some leeway to build his own program his own way, and not expected to necessarily be in the playoff his first year or two. Jimbo would be on the hotseat immediately with a lot of fans-including me, TBH.

While I agree with you (we've had an overall good image under Miles), we certainly have not been immune to high profile issues:

Hill
RP
Tyrann
JordanJefferson

Nature of the beast in CFB... 18-24 year old kids are gonna do stupid shite and get in trouble occasionally

All this FSU stuff doesnt sit well with me. Think about all the team vote shite and there are people that still think Hill should have been booted from the team. This pales in comparison to a bar fight.

Weed, two bar fights and 1 shite head. One of the bar fights was never even proven. All after the brpd decides to dna test a bunch of fricking sneakers. What a joke.

How about the fact he lost 59-20 in a semi final game. Scored 20 points against one of the worst pass D's in the country that season with a heisman winner at QB. How much worse is that than 21-0?

The more I think about it, the timing of this story seems to be on purpose.

Don't let the media play you like a fiddle.

People this has a lot less to do with a head coach and more to do with a "football" town that has a problem with not wanting to see problems that would damage their program. This is usually a community/administrative problem that is far beyond control of a coach. May be part of the reason he wants out. Not to run away from responsibility but to get out of that atmosphere period.

It doesn't matter who is hired, there will be pro and anti factions. A short honeymoon is inevitable.

Not sure on thing with domond, dont even know if hes still on the team.

Hill thing didnt bother me, I used to go out in tigerland and plenty of douche bags start shite with the ball players. You had a few that were just crazy like xavier carter and that snyder dude that got booted. I never bought for one second that miles made his decision on hill because the team voted. That is pretty ridiculous.

Another angle I did think of is that Fisher had a lot of pressure on him, so maybe he caved to the whole winston thing. It was out of his hands type of thing. the community breading this behavior is exactly how i described the penn state fiasco and why they deserved to get punished. It was a culture created by the football program and the people around it that led to everyone looking the other way when children were being molested.

It doesn't matter what your thoughts are. The deal is done and will be finalized Monday once the BOD approves it. Get on the train or get off the tracks.

Were they blown out 3 straight times?
Was it not their first loss in 2 years?
Did they not make the playoff to begin with?

21-0 was a low moment but everything going on right now has little to nothing to do with that game.

If you're one of those people who thinks that Les has done enough to keep his job, even with 3 or more losses a year ever since 1/9 then you can't hold that one game over Jimbo. Yeah they played poorly, but it was one game. Les isn't being fired because of one game.

believed he was reinstated during fall camp, he was accused of chokeslamming his fiance. Haven't heard much about his legal case since then, but Miles did take some heat for it.

I get that. But hasn't FSU always had problems? Even with Bowden there?

It's like them and Miami running problem programs is all I remember about the 80's.
