When he fist pumped his way into the locker room against Tennessee in 2005.

Well, y'all know how that ended...

Was it hard to enjoy that national championship knowing that maybe 8-10 years later, you might end up finally being right?

I thought it was either-
1- the fact that he was so proud at how he 'pulled out' that last minute win vs Az St when the rest of the fanbase was livid
2- that fricking Britney Spears concert headset he had on for his first game in TS

And let's not forget that botched FG attempt right before half and the TO signal after the interception vs Tenn

When in the game before against Arizona State he was yelling, "what's the score?!?!" following the 4th and 10 conversion when Russell found Doucet for a 39-yard TD to give LSU the lead late.

Fun as 2007-2008 was with the undeniably great feeling of winning it all, that championship season actually turned quite frustrating mid-season/November and LSU lucked out in the end.

But I agree with you on the extent of the OP ignorantly thinking LSU was falling into trouble in 2005 despite numerous accomplishments between then and now.

The UT game was my first hint. I was working with a OSU graduate who kept telling me that it was coming.

Still wondering why he stopped giving it to Charles Scott in the second half of that Kentucky game.

I remember wanting Les' head when we left the 2007 Arkansas. If he doesn't luck up, the thought processes would have been very different!

I'm pretty sure in that Tenn game in 05, Les tried to call a timeout on a change of possession. He was clueless that the clock stops on a turnover. But he's a nice guy so its all good.

This thread is full of the Saban-obsessed, Miles-never-good-enough crowd. Congrats!

Was the moment he stepped on campus and opened his pie hole in public. Knew he was a fraud then and now have 11 years of observations confirming my initial impression.

It took you that long??? I knew he was trouble as soon as he was born. I hated him then and no amount of success will change my mind.

It really is funny how much Les' first 2 games (Az St and Tenn) was such a perfect glimpse in the next 11 years
