No melt...team hit the ball well, and SP and back end of bullpen was on. Good to see Bain P well, we'll need him. Nice to see Duplantis get off the snide, and big hits from both Adams and Breaux. Three relievers after Gilbert obviously struggled.

Let's see the bullpen bounce back tonight in support of Hess. Hope he can give us 5IP, and the OFF continues to produce.

Anyone know the status of Cole McKay? He came on board as a big-time TX P. At 6'5", 228 you would think he could bring the ball. Maybe he'll be a 2IP guy behind Hess tonight...

This game doesn't matter at all lol. We lost at Lamar last year and hosted a regional.

Can I assume by the reaction of some on the Rant that PM barfed on his shoes again? Losing to a protege is never good.

No melt here - I sure don't want to wait until SEC time to find out what our pitchers have (or don't have per last night). That's what this games are for - & yes, we lose some of these every season.
Aside from pitching woes, I hope Coomes figures out how to hit a target while throwing from behind the plate. Hopefully it was just first game excitement for him.

Surely giving up 10 runs in 1.3 innings is never good, but it is not the norm...
Saw some good things last nite, things we need to work on, & things we hope never happen again...reminds me of the Lamar game last year...

My concerns going into the season.

*The Sunday starting pitcher
*Middle relief pitching
*Mid-Week pitching
*Losing Jordan in the line-up

Same concerns. We'll see how it plays out.

meh...mid-week game....UNO has a decent program = no big deal!
I'll be concerned if Maryland comes in this weekend and wins/sweeps the series....which aint happening by the way.

All I see is lots of people giving criticism where it's deserved, just because people don't like the way the relievers were handled doesn't mean the season is lost. People can actually criticize a game without it being a melt. Jesus our fans overreact to everything lol lots of Chiefs no Indians.

The only thing I came close to melting about last night was the blown call to end the game.

Many top teams lose these games experimenting with young pitchers. What counts is weekend play. None of these teams would beat us on the weekend.

Gilbert, Kiel, Strall, Reynolds, Bain and Norman aren't young pitchers. All had college experience coming into this season. The main question is, after Strall didn't contribute last year, why is he still on the 35 man roster?

Losing to a school that cancelled it's program just a few years ago does raise some concerns

You're on the money Kid! Hell, a guy goes 1 for 3, all his career, and he's almost in the HOF. A few years ago the Yankees won 60% of their games and won the pennant. Shite happens. Got a long way to go, but I would like to see one or two guys emerge from this gaggle and be a stopper.

You mean the team that improved by 18 games last year and nearly made the NCAAT?
