The LSU-ULM "relationship" is essentially cool, no?

We are good with each other, aren't we? That corner of Louisiana has always been pro-LSU hasn't it? I've never noticed any real USL-level-little brother bed-wetting. I've always pulled for them, and assumed other LSU fans did too ...and found them to be the most pro-LSU of all the other State schools. We are simpatico, right? Was giving my piss balloon machine the week off, a tragic missed opportunity?

Am I off base here?

The only knock from ULM contingent is the fandom for LSU over ULM. Todd berry and the rebranding is helping build the fan base, but winning will be the real key.

Eta: no balloon level animosity in this game

NELa. has always been more loyal to LSU than vise versa...quite a few good athletes have been missed because of it too...think Elvin Hayes, for example...one of the best ever...jmho

I support the WarHawks in every game except this one. I do not think ULM folks are jealous of LSU, unlike the neighbors about 30 minutes West, or the little directional school in Lafayette (which got pasted by the neighbors about 30 miles west.). Nobody up here really considers ULM on the same level as LSU...but they do support their team and want them to do well.

Good point OP. I kinda like them too. They're respectful and Warhawks are LSU fans too.

"bed wetting", "simpatico", "piss balloon". What are you? 9-years old, or just retarded?

Not so much....a very large contingent of ULM fans are people like me....LSU graduates who root for the hometown team...but who actually support the tigers. Not as big of a "social" separation as Duck Dynasty episodes may lead you to believe...

The thing is, ULM and LSU are not rivals and will never be rivals. ULM is one level of football and LSU another. I enjoy ULM games when they play opponents within their conference, especially THE 'University of Louisiana' and enjoy LSU games when they play opponents which are SEC caliber.

Today is just a money game for ULM and will also allow give LSU an opportunity to play their backup players and give them a little experience. Hopefully ULM doesn't get too beat up and some freak accident doesn't sideline any LSU players for the season.

I don't know a ULM fan with isn't also a LSU fan and pull for LSU when they play. Neither teams football future will be determined by the game today and it's just something to watch and hopefully will be slightly entertaining.

there was an article in the Ft. Worth Starlegram this week about one of their players from here, the article says the coach has been walking through tailgaiting areas before their games admonishing anyone wearing LSU garb
