It's not much higher, .296 now vs. .295 last year, but after reading so often on here about how much our batters miss Cannizaro, maybe the Gibbs hire is working out after all.

Also LSU has more homeruns, 55 vs 46 last season, in 7 fewer games than last year.

I was a doubter about Gibbs but just maybe I was wrong....

We have been hot. We are finally swinging at early strikes especially our second round the lineup. We are peaking st the right time

He deserves some credit. It was the SEC batting average going into the slump busting series against Bama that got them going. Pap laying off pitches is all Gibbs.
Pitching and defense will make you better.

Dunn has the team ERA down by a run.

Now take that into account about how many more games they would have won with 1 less earned run. I want to say it was at least 6 or so games.

We're still afraid to steal bases. That was the one thing that Cannizarro definitely made us better in.

thank you for being a dick as usual. Oh yeah, go suck Pawl's arse after another loss in a Super or 0fer in CWS.
If he wins 2 in Omaha I will call JA and up my donations this year by 5 to TAF as a thanks to Paul. No issue.

I don't mind putting my money up.

To play devils advocate it could just be hitters getting better on their own after almost another full year of seeing SEC pitching

Not saying that's necessarily the case but could be an argument to be made.

It's possible to argue that but halfway through the season those "experienced" players had us batting 10 points below last season's average.

Fwiw, the team is batting .378 in the SEC tournament so far.

Not trying to be a negetive Nancy here but we haven't been playing against the best pitching the last couple of weeks either. You still have to hit the ball though and they are doing that. I'm still impressed with the way we are playing as a team and I believe they can turn a corner here and not let up. They can stay hot, we can play small ball, or hit it in the gaps, we have speed to burn and we are playing smart on the bases. It's just full steam ahead at this time.

Didn't we just 10-run rule the SEC pitcher of the year? I know that was one game, but let's not just ignore it.

Expect excellence and reward excellence.

That's why my employees had a love-hate relationship with me. They loved how I pushed them and hated it, but knew the reward would out weigh the short term pain it was to achieve expectations.

Never had a shortage of people wanting to work for me for the 30 years of my career.

A word of advice: never expect anything you aren't willing to out work everyone else for. There's nothing free in this life. Paul knows that and he will make adjustments if needed or he will feel the consequences. JA invested in him and expects results beyond 0-2.

Tigerfan1988.....you really must enjoy being miserable.. Here's a thought, next year go to the Paul Manieri Show at TJ Ribs and have the guts to tell him to his face what you 'gutlessly' post on this site.

Very happy they are turning it on at the right time. Hope they can keep it up when it really matters. This team should be better hitting since it returned so many guys in the field.

Cannizzaro did wonders last year with a lineup that only returned one player. This year's lineup already had lots of experience so I'm going to withhold judgment on Gibbs until next year for the most part

I understand what you're saying, but back when n April, relievers with high era's were routinely shutting us down.
