re: The Kentucky game is a hard sell out. Why isn't LSU touting that fact?

Some of the blame also falls on the media here in BR. Rabalais generally runs a preview article on the day of the game and a recap article following the game. This doesn't allow for any build up or anticipation leading up to the game. It's even more rare for the tv media to promote basketball. Tonight is an event that should get much more publicity than its getting.

The reason I Started doing previews some years ago now was because there wasn't enough media attention on the basketball team. There is much more now but still does lack coverage during football season. I expect it to pick up during conference play. There has been a much higher media presence around the team this year than in years past.

it is inexcusable for anyone that calls themselves an LSU fan to let this season pass by without going to see Ben Simmons IMO

Ben Simmons is so damn good. He should be on the NBA All-Star team this year.

There were definitely no sellouts from after Shaq to at least the 2000 sweet 16 season. Arizona in 2000 was about 200 tickets short. No more chances until the 2006 final four season when the Georgia game sold out.

You sure the Arizona game wasnt a sellout?

We were horrible that year, but I was there at that place was nuts.

the UK game in 2014 probably would have sold out if it wasn't for snow and road closures

Yes. I'm trying to figure that one out too. It's not like they are trying to sell more tickets. And I'm sure it will be mentioned on the broadcast.

It was Christmas break in Dec 2002 no chance.

That was an awesome game and it was packed but if the paid attendance is under the capacity it isn't a sellout.

I mean hell there has been 7-9k actual for shitty non-conference games. That's better than it has been. Conference play the numbers will be way up.

Anybody think there will be scalpers out tonight? If so, what would be a fair price to pay for two of these tickets?

Thanks

Wasn't the LSU/Tennessee women's game in 2003 like the largest crowd in PMAC history at the time?

We lost. It was the year before we made our first Final Four. It was towards the end of the season and we were both ranked in the top 5.

I was there. Place was packed.

ETA:

BATON ROUGE -- What was predicted to be one of the biggest showdowns in LSU women's basketball history turned out to be nothing short of spectacular. The No. 4 LSU women's basketball team took a one-point lead into the final two minutes but fell short of beating perennial-powerhouse No. 3 Tennessee, 68-65, in front of a record school-crowd of 15,217 on Sunday in the Maravich Assembly Center.

So yes. Is that still the record?

The women's team won that game when they put 15,233 fans into the pmac in 2005. That was the 4th largest pmac crowd.

BATON ROUGE -- LSU's top-ranked Lady Tigers basketball team used a solid second half both offensively and defensively to get past No. 5 Tennessee, 68-58, on Thursday night in the Maravich Center in front of the largest home crowd, 15,233, in the program's history.

Yeah, I wasn't at this game so I don't remember it.

It seems our women have quite a few top crowds on the all-time list.

I was there. Awesome game. Dupree tried to give it away at the end. But it definitely was not a sell out.

Are those from those $1 ticket pack the PMAC games? Those were a deal when Seimone and Big Syl were at LSU. I don't know if I'd pay even that price now. I probably wouldn't give up 2 hours of my free time if someone gave me tickets now.
