Coach O allowed players to still play that were out of shape, cutting class, missing practices, not putting in the off season work etc. Yet Moffitt got blamed for their poor conditioning and injuries. If the HC wasn't benching players that weren't adhering Moffett's program, then how in the hell was it his fault?

The new HC Elko at A&M won't be so player friendly. Moffitt will have players following his process or they'll be gone. A&M players are going to be better conditioned now with Moffitt. Anyone that thinks or believes different is naive.

You and deathvalley tiger should meet up in real life. I have a feeling you'd be great friends. Just do us all a favor and distance yourselves from the rest of civilization.

Troll or not, he is right. The S&C coach isn’t where the buck stops in terms of player readiness and playing condition. There’s a lot of factors that go into that.

Moffitt wasn’t tracking analytics relative to player strength, conditioning and performance. He had plans , but no data to support whether the plan worked for an individual or the team. This staff knows down the gram, lb, Blood Qx, mph, etc what every player eats, lifts, metabolizes, runs , etc. They tweek each players plan based upon the data and performance. This is modern S&C and we had little to none of this prior to CBK. The reason we looked weak and out of shape is because we never measured how the workouts of the old staff impacted individuals. We guys with tired bodies at times. We had guys building fat instead of muscle bc of what they were eating. Everyone’s body is different and you can’t develop a plan for a position group and just go with it. If that were the case, every O lineman or D lineman would have the same strength in terms of lifting and performance in terms of conditioning. We all know that isn’t the case, so you have to measure to know and be able to modify. This is why CBK moved on. TM was great for his time and era. He was passed up by younger guys who took a more analytical approach to S&C. It is what it is.

This is absolutely baseless information.
LSU has been using this technology for 10+ yrs.

Flint was probably better at using it to its full potential & BK was familiar with his method.

You can justify BK letting Moffitt go without acting like his program was stuck in the stone ages.

My next statement isn’t about Moffit, but about S&C in general. Analytics are useful, but is not nearly what makes or breaks a strength program. Don’t get caught up in all that flash.

There is a lot of truth in what you are saying. Ultimately the strength and conditioning coach will get blame if a team lacks in that area. But it is the beach coach when who will set discipline and guidelines for players not putting the work in to stay in shape. Moffitt will do good at A&M. His teachings and techniques apply just as well today as they did 20 years ago.

This is the real crux of the matter. Tommy was still doing things the traditional way, and he was not coming close to the holistic approach and analytics demanded today to run a top flight program.

Moffitt's style was antiquated -- compared to LSU's current program.

Absolutely no issues with BK bringing in someone else. The problem is that Moffitt has now become the scapegoat for EO mismanaging the program. If players aren’t held accountable by the head coach S&C can only do so much.
