He's a player's coach. One of things Miles was complimented about during his early years was how he would adapt to what the players wanted.

For instance, the Byrd touchdown against Auburn in 2007. Now granted the ball should of been snapped way earlier, but Miles ran that play because of Byrd. He trusted his player's opinion.

1. The man has a knack for knowing when to call fake kicks. I've never seen anyone come close.

2. Excellent recruiter (which is job #1 for a college coach)

3. He has shown the ability to learn from his mistakes. A couple examples: 1) after RP and high attrition on the OL, he's pretty much stuck to recruits without any character issues, and 2) after the Maleveto fiasco, he came back with an all-star defensive cast.

Quite frankly, he's running out of mistakes to make. In another year or two he'll be perfect.

He coached a great 2007 season.
