I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I look at the depth chart at qb starting this semester and I'm pretty damn opptomistic. I see two guys who could possibly win Hiesmen's sometime throughout their starting careers (Mett and Kiel). With JJ leaving, there's no more "Les' guy" to turn to when ever sees the chance. We have two guys who could potentially be very very good for this program and lead us to multiple NC games in the coming years. We all need to stop jumping before the gun goes off and trust in the kids decision. I don't see Mett or Keil choosing LSU in the first place without some type of garentee that a prolific passing game is in the works.

Let's all relax and see what comes of next season. It's cool to be pissed about this NC game, but have faith for next year. If not in Les then trust in the kids, the fact that they're here with the cluster frick that has been our passing game the last few years should tell you something about what's to come.

Could you supply evidence from history that our coaches understand how to use, grow and direct these raw talents to victories and heismans?

Could be Randall. I think all of our QBs are better than what we had though.

It won't be easy getting past the trauma that has been RP, JJ, JL. However, the future is bright at the QB position.

This is what worries me. Mett could very well be a good QB but he may have to share with the mobile QB and we may never see his full potential.

Yes, Really.

Name a single QB that Les has used correctly?

Name a single QB that Les has coached above natural talent?

Name a single QB that Les recruited and graduated with a better, confirmed on the field skill set?

All QB's he's touched have devolved as their years progressed.

And if you use Matt Flynn as an example, his years behind Jemarcus because of perceived talent gaps were blown away once he touched down in the Packers organization, which needs to be given more credit for his development than LSU does. Out of college, no one could have predicted where he is now in terms of perceived potential. It took several years in Green Bay's hands to get it out of him. Had he any potential perceived by scouts coming out of a National Championship victory, he would have been drafted much higher.

Les remains blinded by measurables while ignoring intangibles and things obvious to even the most ignorant fan.

Remember when clowns on here were clamouring for local kids, like the high school QB's from University, Central and St. Michael's, none of whom have or will ever get a college snap at QB anywhere. Idiots on here. JJ was the best local kid since RP to come along. This staff has brought in tall, pocket passers at a whole different level. In the spring, competition will be strong and in the fall, LSU receivers will get plenty of opportunities, Kragthorpe, etc know who to recruit and how to coach them up. Mett will likely start next season, and when you add his abilities to a team that is returning many starters, etc from a 13-1 conference champ team, next year looks good.

I think Randel will get some snaps but in more of a RP roll in 07, what JJ should have been all along. It's fine to have a running QB for a change up in a pro style offense, they just can't sustain. Kragthorpe has a strong history of developing QBs. Take into account that these kids have had zero exposure to Crowton and theyre already decades ahead of where JJ and JL were at this point in their careers. That is something to be opptomistic about.

Kragtorpe will be the guy to develop these kids and it is what he does best. I think a huge hire is the WR's coach. LSU needs a proven commodity to develop the other end of the passing game. I personally like Tolbert; former Tiger, coached in the NFL and can recruit.

Do we have talent at quarterback next year?
Yes.

Will Les and his offensive staff develop and properly utilize that talent?

Quick question, will y'all label and villify every black quarterback that will play at LSU in the future?

I feel the two QB system will be here for a while.

Mett & Randle

Rivers & Kiel

Les had to of promised Kiel something for him to sign.. but it will be interesting to see how it pans out..

The one black qb on the team right now is Randell. But there've been guys like Davey, Randel, and Russel within the past 10 years.

What in our history would not predicate that as a predetermined outcome? When have we been consistent under the leadership of a black quarterback?

With 2 NC's under 2 white quarterbacks in the south, and a coach who thinks running matters to a QB, there is no way this doesn't continue to be a prejudice in all tiger fans minds, whether they have the balls to admit it or not.

That said, It's not racist to say a person doesn't have the intangibles and decision making ability to win games. Black people don't get a monopoly on that. I'm sure we'll see some really bad white QB's soon as well. At the end of the day, it has to do with coaching a QB to win, white or black. It seems our success rate in coaching the Black QB's has been much worse than the white, for whatever reason.
