What is a fake punt?
Ditto
Put your offense in?
I've seen running backs in punt formation. If you do it every time, the defense has to respect the fake EVERY time even though you run it only occasionally.
Put RB in?

I don't doubt that an announcer may have said, "this is a possible fake punt situation" --- or something to that effect. I do doubt they said "look -- LSU is in fake punt formation".
As for UW seeing it ---- then why not call time out and nullify the risk? Sorry, but I disagree -- UW was distracted and didn't see it-- and they let it happen by not calling time out.
