You're certainly entitled to your opinion.

we didn't "allow" our expectations to drop. they were too damn high to begin with and a close position by position examination proves this. our defense lost a TON of experience at key positions. we have the talent to replace them they just don't have the experience yet. and losing Fournette, Pocic and Teuhuema hurts a lot.

it natural for optimism to be sky high in the preseason and LSU fans are very optimistic at that time. so much so that when reality arrives there is a huge crash and anger sets in and then the BLAME GAME crescendos. i'll admit that this year the anger is the worst i've seen and it's really hatred based.

The problem I have is that O was hired and given a huge buyout because Alleva was either too lazy or too stupid to actually look at other options. I understand that Herman and Jimbo were not realistic options but how did he know that? Why not risk getting a little egg on your face to go get that top guy? Make them tell you No. I also think there were several other options that should have been looked at but he jumped on O with a quickness? Where was O going to go? Why not at least interview a few other guys and see what happens? So when this team finishes 7-5 I will place the blame on Joe and O.

Just another example of unrealistic LSU fan expectations

Wow and all of these years I thought Miles was a great recruiter now you're telling me it was all his recruiting coordinators and position coaches. Or are you saying Miles is responsible when his players do well and it's somebody els's fault when they don't? Seems like you're saying it's the latter which makes perfect sense when your pushing an agenda.

You received the most downvotes to upvotes ratio in this thread, yet you made the most level headed post. Yup, welcome to the Rant.

I don't know what the fans with higher expectations had going through their minds when we 1) were still going to start Etling, whose ceiling has been met and that's all he'll ever be, 2) we made a lateral move at best at HC (a cheerleader and good recruiter), and 3) everyone knew the LBs and OL were going to be a lot worse. This is always what was going to happen. The #12 ranking was a joke, as are all polls before week 6-7.
