#12 LSU is hosting #2 Georgia in Death Valley. Any discussion regarding the game should begin with "Georgia is headed for one of the most hostile venues in all of sport. What do they have to do to win in that kind of environment?"

Instead, Georgia's win in Death Valley and its eventual match up against Alabama seem like foregone conclusions. Our own fanbase is talking about The Chute, the offense, Neck, and how long will the crowd stay. Their fan base is seriously talking about "taking over the stadium".

I still believe in Death Valley. I believe that Vegas will never develop an algorithm for that place when it is rockin and at full throttle. We're talking about a crowd that caused an earthquake. A freakin' geological event was caused by crowd noise. We're talking about a crowd that caused multiple QBs to line up over the wrong person in a game. The one that Tim Tebow signaled to "call him" and the crowd responded by sending him off in tears. The one that beat the unbeatable Gators in 97, ripped the goalposts from the ground and tried to throw them over the side of the stadium.

That Death Valley is still out there. That Death Valley is waiting to erupt. That Death Valley will be there Saturday.

I sure hope so. The student section will be there in the first half and then sprint to Reggie's. The rest of the crowd will probably beat the traffic at halftime. The "Death Valley" days are behind us.

You mean until about midway through the second quarter when the 100 and 300 section seats begin their weekly migrations back to the tailgates and parking lots?

"I know this is a bit redundant, but it is really hard to explain just how loud Tiger Stadium is when you're standing on the field. The crowd is moving and swaying so much, and in so many directions, it makes the stands look blurry, like a pointillist painting."

Wright Thompson

"Woods pumped both fists and yelled, as jacked as you'll ever see him. But the crowd explosion drowned out whatever was coming out of his mouth. It was the closest golf has ever come to sounding like fourth-and-goal at LSU's Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night."

Pat Forde

"I stood in Tiger Stadium and I thought, 'This is what the Colosseum in Rome must have been like.'" -- Ed Simonini, Texas A&M linebacker.

"It was like the Colosseum in Rome and we were the Christians." -- The late Bobby Dodd of Georgia Tech.

"Unbelievable, crazy. That place makes Notre Dame seem like Romper Room." -- Brad Budde, USC lineman.

"It makes a body tingle. These folks go berserk when the band marches on the field. A huge roar is heard for the invocation, for heaven's sake. They not only know the words to the national anthem, they sing them, loudly. And when the Tigers win the toss...there are tears of ecstasy." -- Douglas Looney, Sports Illustrated describing a Saturday night in Death Valley.

"Baton Rouge happens to be the worst place in the world to be a visiting team." -- The Late Paul "Bear" Bryant, head coach of Kentucky, Texas A&M and Alabama

All these things were true.
Once.
Alleva took much of it away by turning the Cathedral of College Football into a profit center.

Don’t forget a Death Valley that made a South Carolina player’s eyes vibrate! And the great Bear Bryant who said Death Valley is “Like playing inside a drum.” Nobody on Georgia’s roster has experienced a big game in Death Valley before. They think they’re ready but they’re about to get hit in the fricking mouth and won’t know what hit em! Don’t know how to send GIFs on here but *insert Bart Scott-Can’t Wait GIF. Georgia’s gonna take over Death Valley and blah blah blah..gonna be a lot of disappointed Georgia fans in Baton Rouge around 6:30 Saturday night!

your right. it was that way. once. but not right now. Not with Ed O. in games of this magnitude, it comes down to coaching and depth. of which we have neither.

I believe we'll see a repeat of the Auburn game last year. Crowd is jacked and there till the end. We gonna bring it.

If LSU plays only 5 on the DL our chances of winning are right next to nil.
