In terms of recruiting, Tennessee has been in the top-15 each of the last four years. They might not recruit at Alabama's level, but they've got enough talent to be highly competitive year in and year out.

Nebraska, on the other hand... yeah, they're just screwed.

*ETA -- I think the OP has a Minnesota emblem? Nebraska is the next Minnesota. They had a golden era of extraordinary heights, but it ends in tears due to their logistical disadvantages.

This is a much closer equivalency, even though Tennessee is so much better off. it’s going to take a major miracle to get Nebraska back to a competitive level. LSU is in a rich talent pool state and in a great conference. What worked for Nebraska years ago is, well, those days are over. But back in the day, they were quite the powerhouse program.
