When I was a kid the first recollection I have of LSU football was listening to an LSU/Bama game on the radio....it rained the entire game and ended 6-3(I think). Mid to late 70's

As a child in the 70's, we went to every home game and we actually never brought rain gear. The only game I remember it raining was Bama in 1979. It rained so hard we had waterfalls on the stairs in the upper deck south endzone. We lost the game 6-3 BTW

People really didn't know how to deal with the rain, which most had never prepared for and started bringing umbrellas to the games. There wasn't even a rule in place not to allow them as rain had been so rare for so long.....

Wasn't the '79 Bama game 3-0 ?

And it may have rained in Tiger Stadium over the years on the field and in the stands, but never """""""" I N """""""""" Tiger Stadium (concession stands, bathrooms, etc)

Was anybody at the South Carolina game in 1995 or 1996 (Can't remember which year, but you'll remember the game)
yep. It was 1994. That game was the low point of my LSU football fandom. It was the week after the Pass-Jamie-Pass game at Auburn, which I also attended.

It was a close game, and yet you just knew we'd find a way to lose, which we did.

And, yes, extreme condensation was present.

There was a game with Tulane in either 82 or 83 that became known as the Mud Bowl because the condensation was up to the knees of the players. Great game. Love the condensation. Find out who the true fans are.

one of my earliest memories of TS.

umbrellas were allowed at that time. it never stopped raining. I was sick for a week after cause we weren't leaving (hmmmmm).

That was EASILY the most dominating 3-0 score in football history. Was never close.

I had a pretty good stretch of every game I went to it rained. Miami 88, Tulane 88 some of the SCarolina and Vandy's mentioned in here too

I rarely have time to go in the last 5 years so ya'll are lucky

Now only if Dan Borné hadn't talked during the 2008 Bama game while a field goal attempt was being made. We'll never know if that kick would have been made if Dan Borné would have kept his mouth shut. Since the game went into overtime, it wasn't insignificant.

I can confirm this is true - I have never been in Tiger Stadium when it was raining, although there has been extreme condensation at times.

natural phenomenon caused by 2million ice cubes simultaneously melting in "Bourbon of choice"...who knew global warming started in Baton Rouge.

I think it was Auburn 1972 and a day game. It was raining right up to the time the ball was placed on the tee for the kickoff. From that point forward sunshine!

That was probably the game. I vaguely remember we missed some fgs in the game.

Florida in 1999. The humidity was so bad, the Mike mascot was surfing on the sidelines on a blow up alligator.
