she abused her position of power. coach jones is a man we can trust on the other hand.

Why did her tenure end at LSU? I can't recall the specifics but thought (?) it may have been due to something she didn't handle very well as head coach.

it's about morality. i don't want to take my kids to the pmac then explain to them what coach pokey did to get fired in her first stint at lsu. it's wrong.

why not just teach your kid about redemption instead of sordid details

I hate this fricking cop out everytime it's used. You don't want to explain shite to your kids? Then why the frick did you have them?

How about this for an explanation. She made a mistake with her last job and she's served her punishment and hopefully learned her lesson.

If you don't want her hired because she'd be a bad image for the University to put forward then that's fine. I get it. But stop blaming your fricking kids for your ideals.

have you ever seen the show the X-Files? the theme of that show is "the truth is out there". well my kids take after fox mulder. they want to know what really happened. that's not a conversation i want to have while trying to watch antonio blakeney hit another three.

Then don't explain it. They probably won't bring it up and if they do just change the topic.

or we could just keep coach jones. if my kids try to interrupt me while i watch reath slam another dunk down it won't be so akward. we can talk about coach jones growing up in deridder and recruiting all the big time recuits from lsu's glory years.

I know this is a bullshite thread, but there are people that want Pokey back as women's coach.

It will never happen. In today's environment, she would be radioactive. No coach with a hint of sexual controversy will ever be hired. And shouldn't be.

Would you be OK with a head football coach having a gay sexual relationship with a football player?

The national media would LOVE a gay woman being named head coach at a major school of the MEN's team.

We'd get better results and a shite ton of publicity.

Only downside is possibly with recruiting. I could see the situation being a tough sell to a 17 year old kid.

Maybe bring her on as an assistant to the next coach with the understanding that she's the head coach in everything but name only.

Quite the opposite. Alleva would be praised far and wide for hiring her. I guarantee that.

If this isn't a sarcastic thread, then I'm out. It's beyond stupid.

Besides the coaching aspect, which the men's and women's game is different, black men are the most homophobic subset of people in the country. ZERO top recruits would play basketball for a gay woman.
