Because he forced the GBFTL to stop playing "NECK" during the ballgames, which led directly to fewer wins over the past four seasons.
For God's sake, can Alleva & Bring back "NECK" so that LSU can win another title!

Agreed! Unfortunately, it was about that time that the hand-wringing, bed-wetting, politically correct wimps whined and complained so much about the horrible offense to their delicate sensibilities caused by the student section that our spineless A.D. declared that NECK must be banned.

There are a host of reasons to fire Joe Alleva. Dishonesty, leaking stories to the media for subversive reasons (Les Miles), bad decisions followed up by even worse explanations for the bad decisions (visiting bands), and the list goes on and on......
