A long long time ago,
I can still remember when,
The Tigers, hired coach Les Miles,
And I knew if he had his chance,
That he could fill Coach Saban's pants,
And maybe we'd stay winning for a while,

But with recruits that he'd been given,
From the top 5 we were driven,
"Bad news" said the bosses,
"No title with 2 losses"
But oh to everyone's surprise,
As top teams fell our rank did rise,
And we laid low those proud Buckeyes
And held, The Crystal high,

Oh my my, this here Les Miles guy
Kind of quirky but we're winning so we'll hold our heads high,
Let him eat his grass, while we drain the kegs dry,
And sing "callin' Baton Rouge" til' we die,
Back when goofy Les was our guy...

Well the Tigers winning streak began,
Most folks warmed to Miles' brand,
Some still wanted him to go,
And do you recall the crazy plays,
In those wild Mad Hatter Days,
heart attack games were the status quo

We were a wild bunch on campus then,
With a flair for madness and a will to win,
Swearing one day we'd beat Nick again,
When Les, he was, our guy,

And we were singing
my, my this here Les Miles guy,
Keeps on winning and we're grinning ear to ear like we're high,
We'll win the SEC, and for the Crystal we'll try
Bleeding out purple and gold til' we die,
Back when Leslie Miles was our guy...

Now for 10 years, Miles was our coach,
Although not without reproach,
And here's how that came to be,

Undefeated then those Tigers won,
Even Evil Nick was Overcome,
And the Crystal, oh it seemed like, destiny

But the die was cast the fix was in,
Alabama got a Mulligan,
On that date of infamy,
Miles wouldn't put in Lee-EEEE!

And As the ticked final second away
With no Tiger scores that fateful day,
Sunshine pumpers hearts all turned to grey,
The day, the magic died,

And we were screamimg,
Bye, Bye tell Les Miles goodbye,
He's been lacking sent him packing, give someone else a try,
One the field that day, we saw dreams wither and die,
But We wouldn't receive a new guy,
And the fans would cuss and they'd cry...

Well helter skelter as the summers sweltered,
Our playoff dreams just seemed to melt, sir,
With Miles we ran out of gas,

Each year we'd have hope, alas,
Miles chomped upon the grass,
But his playbook, was a relic, of the past,

Now at halftimes there the hopeful some,
Swore that adjustments still would come,
Each time Miles got a chance,
But he would not change his stance,

And the plays he called down on the field,
Weakness exploited and revealed,
Three losses in a row were dealed,
For Les, the end, was nigh,
We Started screaming

Oh Buy, Buy, out his contract we'll buy,
Joe Alleva needs to Leave along with this Miles guy,
With him at the helm, our hopes are pie in the sky,
We're tired of wasting talent so high,
It's time to tell old Lester goodbye,

Well ol' Les was set to be replaced,
But Alleva got egg on his face,
And Miles hide was saved again,

But his seat was hot as tabasco,
And, he didn't have much road to hoe,
He was fired if he failed to get the win,

As we watched him on that Lambeau stage,
Our, hands were clenched in fists of rage,
As once more the Hat, he fell,
Couldn't break that Saban's spell,

And As the cheeseheads won that fateful night,
Our hopes crashed just like a plane from flight,
I heard, Saban laughing with delight,
As Miles' chances died,

And we were screaming

Why, why do we still have this guy?
If this is the best we can do then why do we even try,
The Hat's luck has run out, let's tell him thanks but goodbye,
The end of the Miles era is nigh,
No luck can save old Leslie this time,

Well we got a QB, that is true,
So I guess that's is some happy news,
But Miles has to go away,

When they called back that final score,
Although they'd thrown no flag before,
Well the refs sealed, Les's fate that day...

And in the bars the fans they screamed,
Some in celebration it would seem,
No more Les-isms spoken,
His contract now is broken,
And the coach who once had won the most,
(if you ask me more should still be toast)
Is here but his career's a ghost,
Now who'll, be our, next guy?

Oh bye, bye, goofy grass eating guy,
The Had Hatter used to matter now his luck's all run dry,
Maybe give coach O, or old Tom Herman a try,
But who is gonna be our next guy?
'cause goodbye Leslie Miles goodbye...

Oh Bye, Bye Leslie Miles Good Bye,
Hope your future is fantastic 'cause your still a great guy,
Maybe next we'll throw Alleva out there to dry,
But good bye to Les Miles Good Bye...
