So playing a hundred times better and literally being better at everything we have sucked at basically overnight means nothing? The results that O has been able to produce is a credit to him and the staff and how far he has come as a coach but should also be a glaring reminder how bad miles was at maximizing talent. How good we look in such a short time is also an indicator how terrible and complacent things were.

Woah, I thought this thread was about O being the next HC. That is what's bring argued, right?

There are many things needed to be tested. How will the coach adjust at the half? Tested and passed. How will the players respond? Tested and passed. How will the play calling take the loaded boxes off the RBs? Tested and passed. Now how will the team look and what game plan(s) are being put in place for Bama? Test coming. Perfect senerio for LSU. Oh, and make the games fun to watch again! Tested and passed.

Wtf have you seen?

You've seen a team built by miles and coached, for three games, by O and miles staff

Well no shite dumbass. You don't change the staff or change up the scheme much mid-stream. You tweek it, you trust your coaches to tweek things, and you use quite a bit more of Miles scheme and Miles players to keep thing off balance.
That's what I see. I see a team that is, SO FAR, a hell of a lot more disciplined, organized and focused in one, admittedly short 3 game stretch, than they have been in about 2-3 years.

In the past 5 years or so, how many goat fricks have you seen on the sidelines where we can't even get a play in, or the proper personnel in on time?

One knock on Miles was his teams play down to inferior talent and are only passionate about big games. Hasn't happened so far.

Those are some of the things I see, which apparently you don't, or won't.

This is a good start at an intelligent defense of hiring O. My response would be that these are min requirements of a football coach, and further evidence of the rebound coach.

But can he do it himself. Can he build it? Can he maintain it? His resume says no. Your emotions say, eh......maybe.

Can he recruit? YES
Can he surround himself with quality assistant coaches? YES
Can he maintain it? He's doing it right before your eyes....YES
Can he adapt? YES
Will he let his coaches coach? YES

He has taken Miles' players and done more with them than Les had. He will get talent
and he is very capable of managing the program and will adapt as necessary. JMO

Again.....I AM NOT saying hand over the keys.

Where did we say turn over the keys to him? What's said is......he has taken over and gotten the most out of his players and has definitely sparked the offense. I don't know what more you want the man to do? He has addressed and fixed most glaring issues. Yes, he deserves a fair shot if he maintains the course.

people all over both boards are saying to hand him the job.

he has done admirably in the role of interim coach and validated the administration's decision to fire les miles.

there is nothing more the man could do. no one could prove what people are saying he has proven with the three games he has coached.

he absolutely deserves the fair shot to win the job

but the audition is NOT beating USM, Ole Miss and Mizzou, not even prettily. it's beating the saban's of the world while also showing the administration that he can do this on his own, with his own staff, and with his own team.

once again, larry coker was successful at miami. for all of about 2 years. mike archer was successful for all of about 2 years.

please tell me that even if you can't understand short term fixes rather than longview problems, you can remember these anecdotal examples

dude. you can't get it in your thick skull. WE ALL frickING SEE THAT ORGERON IS BETTER THAN THE 2016 VERSION OF LES MILES.

you keep saying the same goddamn thing. MILES SUCKED. ORGERON BETTER THAN MILES.

no one is arguing with you.

but being better than miles does not mean necessarily and especially not after three games mean that Orgeron as of yet should be crowned the new head coarch.

Bayou Bengal 99 just preached the truth! Under Coach O we're are executing more. I agree if the current offense was in place we beat Auburn by 14 and Wisconsin by at least 10.

So again, hire O cause he's better then Miles? Srsly, please tell me you at least understand what you're saying here. You do, right? You're not even saying O is the the best, you're saying he's better then what we had. Aside from the obvious pitfalls of hiring a HC with a record of dismal failure, please acknowledge your flawed reasoning in hiring a HC with a record of dismal failure because he's better then your last incompetent coach (who annually brought in top 10 recruiting classes and hired competent assistant coaches that your using in your argument as to why your current interim coach is better then you past incompetent HC). Please tell me you understand the flaw in your reasoning

karma how old are you , LSU is not owed all those top recruits ,they come when we have coaches that can get them from charley mac to denardo we didn't get a lot of them ,when we do we need to appreciate them not run them off by constantly threatening them because they don't win SEC championships every year SEC management only allows Bama to do that, if bama fails them auburn is their backup plan. It is very hard to go up against their plan . If Coach Miles and ogeron can,t do it I know that jimbo (I am losing my butt without my quarterback ) fisher , and them texas coaches who are struggling trying to win right now won,t ! Those air raid offenses are going the way of the wish bone any how thwy are getting less and sucessful for example see Oregon quack quacks !
