I've never seen the fan disposition toward the football program in such a disagreeable/ confused state.
Setting aside who is to blame, I don't see the wholesale, passionate devotion to the program that once ruled, in part because of an anticipation of imminent demise on the field.
The immediate dust up is over the QB, but this is just symptomatic of the deeper problems that has generated negative goodwill with the fans .
Les is a good man, but he will have to go soon or a whole lot of damage will have been done to a great football program.
Just so F. King Alexander will understand, if such damage is, in fact, being sustained, it may be difficult and time consuming to reverse. In short, F. King, it will cost LSU money. BIG money.

The biggest change I see is that the majority are now fed up with Miles, and they're serious. It's not just a fickle reaction to something in particular, and it doesn't appear to be fixable without a miracle occurring.

This, my friends, is what will finally bring about the needed change. I feel it's a bit late, but better late than later (or never).

While I don't disagree that the fan base has become uneasy (or that after 11-12 seasons it's time for almost any program to make a change), one should guard against any tendency to equate the fan base with the population of The Rant, or even to assume that the predominant attitudes here are typical of the fan base as a whole. The ignorant jerks as a percentage of the population here is way, way bigger than in the fan base as a whole.

It shouldn't be surprising.

LSU fans know how dangerous this team could be/could've been with just average QB play and playcalling that is slightly more creative than run-run-long pass.

To see that specific facet of LSU's program struggle for so long without it being addressed or fixed is understandably frustrating for a fan base, especially for a program that has the resources LSU's does.

Agreed. I think emotions have been at a steady high since the loss. People are just eager to see change and improvement. I think that is something we can all agree, hopefully.

We don't have to hype or bash our players to make ourselves feel better about this situation because it takes away from the fact that CLM and Cam are not creating on offense.

We have to support the players, whoever it may be and use the best players to win each game at this point. That may change depending on the opponent and I am fine with that.

One time supporters are fleeing this ship and I sure as hell don't blame them.

If Alleva et al have an ounce of integrity or direction, they know what needs to be done. There is no going back from this and only Miles is to blame. As unfortunate as it is.

They did care, they just didn't believe Les was or would end up a lame duck. They were wrong, and some of them are still here to defend him now.

And those weren't negatigers that were saying Les was or would be a lame duck. That is, unless it's the negatigers that love LSU most here.

This is it. The 12' BCSNCG set it in motion and it has been going downhill slowly from that point. The screwed up 12' and 14' home loses to Alabama, the now 5 straight loses to Alabama. The November to not remember, the 2nd straight embarrassing loss to Arkansas. The 9-9 SEC record in the last 18. I can continue, but yeah people are tired of it.

To be honest the only way he can make it better is win the west and go to the SECCG.

This is what I got from talking to people at the game and before the game.

It is all on Miles.

Those who think LSU fans are so different that they will show up and support no matter what, are about to have that theory tested.
This is a great program but performance well below potential for years on end diminish even the most loyal fan's passion.
Real damage is being sustained here and now.

Agreed...only a moron would admit pre-Wisky that he needs to get to Atlanta to keep his job and then switch on this a couple of weeks later based on the 2nd quarter of last weekend's game.

If LSU does not go to Atlanta THIS year, Les has failed entirely and needs to go.

I would honestly just get rid of him now and make Aranda interim, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. LSU would have to lose to a team like JSU for that to happen, and Les has recruited far too well for that to be legit possibility.

This is flat terrible. Tells you everything you need to know about the state of the program.

1993 was probably the worst year of Football I have ever been through at LSU. We get Slaughtered by Florida 58-3 in TS. Come back several weeks later and beat Bama on the road(saved Hallmans job) Only to lose to Arkansas ending the season 5-6 instead of 6-5. That Arkansas game was fricking horrible. Mike Bugar let 3 different RB's from Arkansas run for over 100 yds. He never loaded the box to stop the run and we got gashed for huge runs all day.
