That's baseball. Thanks for a thrilling season

Ok, I'm disappointed as anyone. You can't leave the bases loaded three times in a game and expect to win. But that is just the short view. Baseball is a cruel game.
This has been a thrilling season. The team has struggled, fought, scrapped, and outperformed expectations all year. Sure, I'm disappointed that it didn't end with LSU hoisting the hardware in Omaha, but I an satisfied. I've been entertained. I am proud of this team.

They definitely outperformed mine and probably most people's expectations this year.

Watching this team early in the season I never thought they'd get where they got.
Still disappointing and looking at the other 6 (7 at some point) teams in Omaha I would have liked the Tigers chances.
But baseball is the cruelest of all major sports. Those who don't understand that haven't played and had your heart ripped out by some crazy "only in baseball" type deal

That's why the second guessing on how we managed the game is valid

Second guessing every game, every sport, no matter what the outcome is always valid for people looking to bitch about something.
This team way out performed intelligent expectations.
Just for once in your life try to focus on the positive.

I am proud of this team. This team proved most people wrong and overachieved with the lack of talent this year. Sure it was disappointing to see them lose but Omaha was a pipe dream this year and they came so close speaks volumes of the team's character.

Hey it was a great season.
Look I am a UGA graduate and have lived here since 84. I converted so to speak 6 or 7 years ago as my kids started going to LSU particularly when it comes to baseball. (Oh I am going to still pull for the Dawgs in football particularly now that CMR has gone. I never liked him. I like Les Miles and LSU football too.)
I love to go to Alex Box and attended probably 15 games this year.
What LSU has in baseball is really special. Every year the teams are made up of good, talented kids. It is a class program all of Louisiana should be proud of.
I love the stories of those kids--Scivicque, Poche, the Jordans, Nola and on and on.
I get chill bumps when they bring out the Dow military member of the day at the games or have the LSU tenors sing the national anthem and when the junior voice of the tigers announces a half inning----it is a little piece of America we wish we saw every where.
I wish them all great success in life and really appreciate the work they have put in to be the talents they are today.

Yep I agree as well! Exceeded my expectations. Sure I am disappointed but we got beat by a team that played their asses off! Hats off to CC they deserved it!

Sure the season is a positive. But we are allowed to look at the most recent games and are allowed to be disappointed. There is nothing wrong with that. Series at home, you leave too many guys on base. You have poor base running, bad pitching decision. All that could have been corrected and LSU could be in Omaha.
Which leaves concerns going into next season. Are we going to see more of the same?

This is the truth.
This team fought hard all season and have nothing to hang their head about.

Next year will be interesting to say the least.

You are righ to be concerned. It is essential that LSU will not ever again leave men on base, have base running mistakes, bad pitching decisions or any of the other bitching points. Every game must be perfect. But when that happens what will you and the rest of the constant complainers do?

I really really enjoyed this season. They did as well as I could have hoped for them.

Agreed. They definitely exceeded everyone's expectations. It's refreshing going into a season with tempered expectations and overachieving rather than to have high expectations and underachieving.

Deichmann returning is a good thing. We will have more depth and experience next year. All good.
