According to ESPN, LSU is most similar to the 2015 Buffalo Bulls, 2003 Milwaukee Panthers, 2007 Missouri Tigers, 2004 George Washington Colonials, and the 2006 Iowa State Cyclones. Not sure how they formulated this but it's interesting nonetheless.

I thought you were referring to similar teams this season.

A good comparison is syracuse, who is 16-8 vs LSU's 15-8. Wins over UConn, Texas A&M, @Duke, vs Notre Dame, but a bad loss to St. John's. LSU's bad loss to Wake Forest is on par with St. John's.

Cuse was 6-1 with Boeheim, when he was suspended for those 9 games we went 4-5. With him back we've been 6-2.

LSU started off decent, then a bad stretch. When Hornsby and Victor returned, team got immediately better.

I'd go with the 2013-2014 Kentucky wildcats that we beat during the ice storm. They turned it on later in the season and made a run in the tournament. They just had to find their groove like we have so far in SEC play.

Hornsby and Victor were out from the beginning. I wouldn't say we started off well

2003 Milwaukee Panthers

Bruce Pearl was their coach. Also none of these teams made it past the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament

Alright I fixed it, started off 'decent' at 3-0. The main difference is in the ACC syracuse is in 10th vs LSU being 1st in the SEC. Think they're giving the ACC a lot of credit this year if they're putting cuse as a bubble team currently sitting in 10th place

I didn't make this list, just copying and pasting what ESPN formulated from statistics.

I read this as "2015 Buffalo Bills" and was confused, to say the least.

The comparison is likely based on the KenPom ratings. LSU this season, like those other teams, has a pretty efficient offense; a fairly inefficient defense; and plays at one of the faster tempos in the country.

Take a look for yourself:

Maybe Charleston. On one hand they're 15-8 (7-5 in Colonial) so at least doing something right. On the other hand, they won a game a few weeks ago against Towson 40-37

Wake Forest is 10-13 (1-10 in the ACC)so I'd chalk that up to just an off day for the tigers. That's the great thing about basketball, anything can happen on any given night.

I grant you both are bad....

1-10 in ACC = 7-5 in colonial...

The Charleston loss certainly isn't good, but likely won't get the same weight as the Wake loss, as we were at full strength for Wake.
